There is no room for bikes on its runs so 1 x BS car will be forwarded to Newport to have the former toilet area removed and used for bike space.

I think BS 215 is the only V/Line BS car with the original separate washroom and toilet layout at the east end of the car. It already has a retention toilet so I assume one of the other (non-original) cars would get altered.

Seems it wasn't popular to run SZ7 as all economy, since First Class has now been reinstated on the services it is used for.

Z57 has been taken apart for the time being for numerous modifications.

Actually, the reason 1st class has been re-instated is that this new set has now been disestablished altogether and replaced with N 16 & 2 of the BS Cars ex Z57. One BS Car has been sent back to Newport for modifications - for the conversion of one compartment into a bike & luggage space area. This will take some time - 6 to 8 weeks as a bare minimum.

Besides being flooded with complaints from the First class clientele who travelled on the train, there was a person with a bike joining the train every day at Werribee who could no longer board since the new set came into running. BCZ 257 will also now become an ACZ again which means further modifications. The door operation from the van area was also an issue.

Don't expect to see this set back in traffic any time soon. Another classic VLP & engineering f*** up!!

So vline pull the set, spend hundreds of dollars, take an otherwise problem free car out of service for eight week just because one guy can't get his bike on the train.

Makes you think

Why not just use the existing BS cars to lengthen a few more of the other sets? Surely there are a few FN sets which could use a fifth car, even if it is an ancient BS.

Bloody Geelong whingers and their "I require a First Class seat as i am better than the rest of the world" mentality...
