Gunzel love

  Stepto Assistant Commissioner

I ask you guys has your pursuit of trains ever coincided with a chance meeting of a life partner or friend?

I can't say it has for me, but tell us your experience!

I think more than a few people have fallen in love with 3801, but I doubt that's what you were asking.

Not the best choice, but "things" can be included if that's all that is attainable by said person/s.

There are a few things I love, but not as a result of the subject at hand.

You are obviously not married with kids?????

While watching Top Gear Australia last night, with the camera inside the GTHO Phase 3, I got a bit choked-up, like I had lost a "love of my life" (about the car, not the guy)!

This must the same for Train Gunzels, when they see a favorite loco or train coming past!

Nope.  The love of my life is most definitely a human female.  Anything on wheels with numbers is purely a hobby interest no matter how much affection I might feel for it.  Laughing

Same for me.  8)  You just unimpress females if you give too much priority to your hobbies, especially trains. A complete opposite for something like dancing.

No, I am not married or have any kids but I have a girlfriend and I have to think about her as well as my hobbies. Whereas I was born into the railways and have been around trains in some form or other all my life my girlfriend hasn't, she couldn't care less about trains (like most females!) and so there's got to be a balance. Yes, I do have a thing or 2 about certain locomotives, especially AN1 which I had a hand in giving birth to it back in 1992 as well as other locos but it's not like I'm gonna bar up over them!  I see there's a lot of foamers out there that take the matter to hand, let me tell you!!

When I read that title I thought of something far more twisted, and lets just say, er, different.
For example something like this....

Yes reaching the bottom of the gunzel barrel..
Be warned, not suitable for kiddies, those allergic to nuts of all sorts, and not ISO9002 approved.

Current price for that car: a whooping $800,000 (yes, the price was that many 0s).  Shocked

In answer to the question, I doubt very much I'll find my lifelong partner with any of my hobbies. Be it trains, cars, music whatever. Although certainly out of being a train buff I've made some mates I'll probably have for a very long time.
