The other day I was stuck behind a car at traffic light and noticed what Victorian number places are up to - SCT have missed out on getting cars with rego plates SCT 001 - SCT 011 for their company cars to go with the locos. ![]()

SCT008 was out and about in the Newcastle area today...spotted by RP member Raichase on his day out gunzeling today.

The new SCT loco depot at Laverton is underway, the foundations started about a month ago, the roof was put up some time in the past week. It is hidden along the back of the yard, with all of the sidings between it and the main line.

It isn't hard to see from the road outside SCT! Or have they put up some new walls to hide it?
The excavations appeared complete (if flooded) in very early January, with at least some earthwork for the new track in place leading back to the yard.

I got some good shots from along the road 2 weeks ago. I will post them when I get time to resize them.

Going from the information in the caption, the people of Parkes must be shocked to know they are no longer part of NSW ![]()

Bing, it only says that they are being delivered to SCT in Victoria, meaning I assume that they will be taken over and checked out at Laverton (or perhaps Galvin , if you were feeling pedantic and had seen the short lived location sign at the junction point).
In fact, EDI use the "LV" order prefix for the SCT units making SCT, in some way, the successor to VR!
More of concern to me is the thought that the train will be split at Jindalee! I assume this means the double crossovers north of Cootamundra (where the bidirectional signalling ends) rather than the plain track at the site of the vanished station of that name. This would allow the train to proceed to Coota West and the new locomotives to proceed south.

Through Cardiff on Monday. Sct 11, 10, FL220, 44204 and 80s4.
Cheers

I hear they will work 6MP9 and if that is the case that ends the working of Pacific National Bulk engines on SCT Trains for now.

These two were delivered to Sydney on 4142 yesterday but the may be stalled somewhere due to the derailment or unless they passed earlier.

Anyone from SCT missing a sandbox of one of the new loco's?
Anyone want one as a trophy?
Picked one up at the 186.770 (Cunderdin Tammin) yesterday.
The Northam Per Way Super has it.

So thats where it ended up,
Meh, plenty of newbies in stock,

I noticed today that one of the SCT class locos at Laverton had a name on the side. Which one is it, and what is it called? Gheringhap Loop hasn't been updated yet, it was the 3rd unit.

That would be SCT007 - Geoff (James Bond) Smith
Named after the CEO of SCT.

Thanks for that - the name had brackets in the middle.

How are these girls tracking? Have the teething problems been sorted

Apparently they won a title, "king of the mountain" (maybe better put as 'king of the Cowan Bank") ...

My question: what were they compared against?

Three PN 92 class (United C44 aci).
This was reported in other RP threads.
For locomotives of the same nominal power, the LDPs did show up as more suitable in that application.
