is the 43 going to be on this years Aroura ?
"EL60"

Not sure. It had a ground relay failure on the last aurora trip in October. Whether that's been fixed yet and if it is put on this trip, can't be said.

I cant see an STN. All I can see is a list of train numbers and times. You're all making a mountain out of a mole hill.
"Fireman Dave"

Agreed.

Seconded
"Maikha"

Thirded on that.
Glad the timetable is accurate (as far as I know It is)
I'll be making a early wake up in the morning, I'll give my video camera a good clean in the morning, Set it up either at Henty station Platform or somewhere near the Sladen St Level crossing to film it roaring through in the morning.

Any locals near Wagga or Albury gonna get some photo or video shoots of this event?

I meant for the loco power that she had on - 4490,4916,4520- If you had taken one off i'm sure 2 could have just as easily done the job

P.S Mind you Maikah- I'm sure your line of thinking would be that the 3rd was just incase one broke down??? - If that's the case you are probably correct  Smile

How about you just give it a rest with the constant procession of expert opinions on railways there boyo?

You do nothing but discredit yourself and give other people the smeg.

Hoping to catch up with the train again this year at McIntyre Loop and watch the shunt. Looks like it'll be a bit warmer this time, too... Laughing

Thanks for the times, too, should make it a bit easier to be at the right spot at the right time.

Tossing up whether to see it arrive in the morning at Southern Cross or just watch it fly through Donnybrook on its way back north (it says it's stopping at Donnybrook loop for remarshalling but I'd imagine they'd use McIntyre loop again like last year).

On a side note for anyone interested the 2 coaches to transfer the Aurora passengers to the racecourse will be docking at 09:30 in the bays alongside platform 1 at the coach terminal

Acctually there was 11 cars on. It was still a fairly easy run though. The locos were remarshalled as the 44 class doesn't have a power supply for the Vic radios in the No1 end, so the 49 will lead from Bomen to Totty tonight.

FD- AND BEYERPEACOCK- Can you please not gang up on me- I am allowed to have an opinion - even though it may be slightly astray at times- Please can we just forget about it and move on and try and cooperate - Making enemies on here- is something that I don't want to do

Kind Regards

P.S and FD i can get the hint that you are talking about the cullerin ranges, Demondrille etc

Start asking questions rather than making ambit claims or guesses and you might get a better reaction. If you think Cullerin and Demondrille are the deep south you are very much mistaken.

Deciding to take some video of the trains arrival into SCS I arrived at platform 2 approximately 9:10 to find the train already arrived and by the look of the empty seats, it had been for a while.

The timetable had the train around 09:46. Obviously they ran a little early.  Would someone plese provide the time of arrival.

Video and Pics to follow shortly. 4916 lead the train into SCS having placed 4490 onto the rear of the train for the run into Melbourne's interstate passenger terminal.

Having arrived early into SCS, this is what I found:

4916 leads the train into SCS

4520 running behind 4916 into Melbourne

4490 at the rear having been moved from the front of the train to the rear to assist in shuttling the train from SCS into Dynon.

4490 at the rear, about to become the front for the movement to Dynon for the day.

A better shot in a little more light.

4490 Builders Plate

A final look at 4520 before she heads away to Dynon for the day.

Video will be online shortly.

There you go, we must've seen each other there, then. I was in the yellow Aussie cricket top... Didn't even recognize you.

The train was at least 15-20 mins early into McIntyre Loop, as the 44 was run around and well and truly done by the time I got there.

Each timetabled "stop"/passthrough was early.

Didn't realise the train was going to leave Southern Cross so quickly, either, I would've headed up to "Gunzel Bridge" and watched the Alco show departing... Laughing

My pics and video up soon, too. Very Happy

The train was an early arrival to McIntyre loop, with the repositioning of the loco's having been completed sometime before I arrived at 8:10am. Departure towards Southern Cross Station was also earlier than expected @ 8:57am, with arrival at SCS also well ahead of time. Clearly the slow Tottenham/Dynon/SCS scheduled times were replaced with a quick sprint!
