If this is the livery they plan to fit on them, That name will have to go.

Not really... Just stick it on top.

Yes

The hitachis were renumbered a few months ago. Check vicsig for new number allocations.

DalyWaters Chief Commissioner

One would assume that naming these new sets after current union officials is just a way of trying to get them running with quick union approval.

Dreadful way to run a railway.

Whose decision is it to name them? Connex? MTM? or the owners, the DOT?

It's not particularly impressive is it. A lot of Pocket P1ssing...

One of the new trains should be named after the Train Driver that was killed in the Black Saturday Bushfires. I think that would be more approprate than naming them after Union Officals

Laughing I agree Tomo and Daly....what the f@#k is going on? Isn't pocket p1sssing the way things are done now?

On another note, when is the big fella coming back? Very Happy

Exactly, that would have been better....I wouldn't have my name on one.

I would have tried to think of someone more deserving like the one you mentioned comeng301, or the TCAO that was killed on his way home from work allegedly by a drunk and speeding driver.

I had to put "allegedly" for legal reasons obviously Rolling Eyes

I would support that fully. Likewise madmac's suggestion of the TCAO.

You would be correct Brendan, apparently it is actually a bit of a stir....the Union blokes involved in the testing cannot stand these trains, so someone else has decided it would be the ultimate insult by plastering their names on one of the trains. Laughing

So this Richard Orme doesn't actually want his name on a train?

I saw the new X'Trap stationary near Galvin this morning. All six new cars. Is this the first time it's ran alone?

According to him, No..... Laughing

DalyWaters Chief Commissioner

I dare say, they will be the dirtiest trains out there.

Particularly the smearing to cover the names.

How can they put a name there against the persons wishes.

And still the question remains- who is responsible?

Once upon a time when there was one railway in Victoria, legend had it that the name of a rather unpopular senior executive was to be painted on an equally unpopular cement wagon. The wagon was then to be shunted ceremonially into the Barwon.

Stickers are easily removed... Wink

Shall we take bets how many docks it will take before those trains are un-named, or otherwise defaced?

Xtachi Station Master

i saw them today and The Names are GONE!!!!!

The resemblance is uncanny. Laughing

They look like they've never been on a train before, but that's another story.

LaughingLaughing Kosky looks worried, she is probably missing her chauffer driven government car!

I can understand if they wear those flak jackets in a Siding, but why on a train...FFS take those things off, they look stupid Laughing

Speed Minister for Railways

Maybe she's worried that the train will capsize and she doesn't trust the buoyancy vest to float in the water.

Trains a very dangerous you know, too dangerous for a useless politician who is of of higher class than the average commuter. Rolling Eyes

Then again, if she was seen on a train during peak hour, I think there might be several disgruntled passengers who'd like to say a few things.

They both look totally out of place - particularly Kosky. Perhaps they are expecting a fishplate through the window or someone to come and spew on them. The flak jackets are just plain ridiculous it's a wonder that they aren't wearing crash hats and lace up steelcaps as well.

I have theory as to why she looks stupid and it's not because it's an optical illusion.........

just so every one knows. out of the 38 3car sets you have to take half of them away which = 19 6 Car sets. out of the exta 19 you have to take away the 7 Hitachi setswhichs leaves 12 out of that you have to take away 6 more sets for repairs which out of all that you only get 6 more sets out of it all. so really there is not much to gain out of it.

Which part of "there are 38 new sets" don't you get?You don't have to "take away" anything from it.

The Hitachis are not disappearing on a set-by-set basis when the new trains arrive.

And given that fleet use is ~95%, you aren't taking half away for repairs.

I don't think he understands that it's 38 6-car trains.

So to translate for him, that's 76 3-car sets.

I bet they are in a worksafe zone which dictates the wearing of those jackets in a contruction zone inside or out. I guess/speculate they has to cross tracks etc to board and not just step in via a normal station platform.

Sorry to think about it Wink
