Well good luck trying to get the Altona loop double tracked.

School holidays/medication's been changed. Can't decide which one.

Looks great but, I think you have gone overboard with the premium and host stations, I mean Rushall, Glenbervie, Macaulay, Montmorency and so on; aren't stations that I would put as needing host or premium stations. Also, Watsonia is a premium station. And correct me if I'm wrong but Mill Park is south of South Morang, which means they would have to throw away their current plans if they were to build a station in Mill Park.

Montorency is just a single platform station with a basic building.Coutersy of vicrailstations.com
Anyway, most stations on the Alemain line won't need to be staffed as the line is the least used on the network (correct me if i'm wrong). Also for some reason, I don't see the Lilydale line getting extended to Yarra Glen happening.

I also don't see the reason why some of those Stony Point line stations need premium status, I think an upgrade to provide the basic amenities is fine.

i see these "new layout" threads alot, people should look at the sat images to see if there are houses in the road for new lines. some older lines that were pulled up have greenways in their place and thus can be relaid with track. easyer than clearing houses.

i would like to know how a train is going to get from Newmarket to highpoint then to Melbourne airport

That's what I'm saying, just an upgrade of the shelter maybe (not Cranbourne style) and adequate signage and metcard/myki machines and chairs; I don't think most Stony Point stations need staff and a fancy set of automatic doors.

Its supposed to be Huntingdale to Ferntree Gully, not Glen Waverly to Ferntree Gully

Fail cwer.

All that and no Southland station.
School holidays indeed!

I particularly like all the nameless stations with no indication of location. I also like that the Doreen line seems to have no end. I suppose it goes on to Cairns eventually. Gonna be a long trip on a Hitachi. I think I could do better after a bottle and a half of scotch whiskey.

How did you manage to put Derrimut next to Werribee? I'm pretty sure it's next to Sunshine and Deer Park. Also, what happened to the city saver zone?

Why 3 tracks Sth Yarra to Elsternwick? Not too sure what that might acheive, from an operational perspective. Are you looking at Elsternwick-Flinders short stops?

It's to help ease capacity.
The unnamed stations on the airport line are flem racecourse and flem showgrounds
The airport line after highpoint wil lthen extend via jacana freight line then branch to the airport

The Sandringham line doesn't need 3 tracks. Sandringham does not need express services, and a third track is only good for peak hour expresses. The best upgrade to that line would be a second platform at Sandringham.

The kids probably looking at maps just to see where to put lines or using other peoples ideas. I don't think Aurora actually exists yet, there is nothing of significance at Clyde either. And just to be really picky, At Airport West, you can't have the station marked as a tram connection. The terminus to the 59 tram is nowhere near the railway line, nor is there any remotely convenient path to the line as there is car wash and a steakhouse (at least I think it's a steakhouse, either way, the steak is delicious) in the way.
Have you ever actually been to these locations?

A station at Cave Hill, Yearing Station Station, and no parking or buses at Lilydale?
Cave Hill would make Galvin and Paisley commuters very jealous, as they never received a rebuilt station, yet Cave Hill, with a larger population of cattle than people, gets a brand new station which is one minute from Lilydale by train anyway!
No high speed rail link from Kananook to Noble Park, with a terminus at Doveton either? Expect to be bombarded with VB stubbies for missing out in that one, the locals will be very annoyed...
You also forgot to rename Merlynston to Robin too.

Derrimut Road intersects the railway less than 1km away from Werribee station, next to some warehouses, which doesn't seem like an important area. And I don't think they are going to extend the Bundoora RMIT tram up past Epping station.

but how will the line travel from Flemington racecourse to highpoint and then on to Avondale heights??

but how will the line travel from Flemington racecourse to highpoint and then on to Avondale heights??
Magic.
I've always thought that the best idea for an Airport line would have the Craigieburn Line branch underground at Essendon with stations at DFO, Essendon Airport, Airport West, Gladstone Park and Melbourne Airport. Then extend the Upfield line to Craigieburn and run shuttle trains between Essendon and Craigieburn.
Make City-Airport the main line with the shuttles as a branch line.
But like all possible transport plans they have faults and will never happen because it's not a road.
