Nothing beats a BBQ with mates and a few cold ones while watching the race. Hopefully some fine weather is in order this year on the mountain, compared to last year.  8)

Last year went to a mates place and got on the amber fluids. Lost voice after Holden won it. Diff this year, at home watching it!

Anyone else driven around the Bathurst circuit? I did a couple of times, pretty cool. Sort of hard tring to imagine being a V8 driver while only doing 60kmph lol Laughing

Brad Jones Racing, The Kellys Jack Daniels cars (only saw #7) along with Zukanovic, Blanchard and Jane tested at Winton today. I managed to get down there and got some pics and met some of the Zukanovic team.
HRT, FPR, the other Kelly cars and GRM could possibly be due for a pre Bathurst test soon aswell. They definately had the pre enduro test a couple of weeks ago with those present today so don't know.

Awesome shots there mate. Great to see some of the other action most of don't normally see on TV.
Looking forward to Bathurst-really hope the Lowndes and Skaife do the double. Just want to see anyone but Whincup win-i've had enough of him winning everything for a while-time to see someone else win

I drove around it in a Holden Commodore (a V6 and not a V8 though) a few years back when we were in Bathurst for a week.  It was the middle of winter and most mornings we had to scrape the ice off the windscreen before we could drive anywhere.

And yes, I kept to 60kmh all the way around.  Don't know what it's called, but the corner at the top of the mountain where there's sort of like a wall next to the roadway is so closed in.  I don't know how they can drive through there at the speeds they do...........

It was a good race today. Fabian's crash was spectacular, but at least he walked away thanks to the well designed roll-cage.

Had to laugh at Tander's door. Fell off so easily, yet it took a whole 3 minutes to fix it.

TeamVodafone go 1st-2nd for the first time ever. A feat that seemed impossible before the new rule introduction on co-drivers.  8)

It is only the third time I can remember seeing a form finish.
Moffat and Bond did it in Falcons.
Holden did it once with Brock and ???
and now the Vodafone cars.

Moments after his car stops, officals rush over. I'm sure it'll buff right out.

The 2 Vodafone cars make their way through the chase one last time with the crowd cheering them on.

All in all, the atomosphere of the mountain on race day is just something to cherish, waking up at a sparrows fart to hear the sounds of V8's thundering around the mountain is just something else, to those who haven't been and want to, do it, you will not regret it!  Very Happy

I'll insert the expected whinge that it's not what it used to be since Ford and Holden whinged about the Skylines in 1992 and removed all the other cars, and the fact that it's one middling American company's bland cars vs another middling American company's bland cars.

And Channel 7 can go forth and multiply itself with the douchebag commentators talking utter bollocks throughout.

If we are talking about the same race that was on Channel 7 recently, then 7 has shot themselves in the rear end, falsely advertizing the coverage was live when it wasn't. By the end of the race, 7 still had 13 laps to show  Confused
