Batten down the hatches and keep safe team.
I was watching The Weather Channel this morning and the presenters did mention a "severe weather event" for south-east Australia from then NSW-QLD border down to Tasmania. From what I remember there was cold humid air pushing in from the Great Australian Bight into South Australia and this was going to run into another mass of cloud that was in Central Australia which was going to bring buckets of rain.
Stay safe down south and ensure the beer fridge is covered there 42101, let us know if your end of the world gets some rain.
Apparently that big lump of rock near your old town was running white with waterfalls today as a big storm hit it.
Thanks mate,
Just checked the BOM warning and there are flood watches on ten river systems in your general direction.
Keep your feet dry.
Regards and respect
It's about to hit you in spades, up there in South Hay, see http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDR491.loop.shtml#skip
However our local weather warnings have just been down graded a bit (Northern Rivers NSW) according to BOM. We do not need any more rain atm.
It's hit Melbourne about half an hour ago.
I work near Moorabbin Airport and there is a weather station there; always interesting to look it up and get wind speed and direction, temperature, rainfall etc.
It will be working overtime today; I think that the worst is yet to come.
