While it is not exactly metro or suburban, vline has put tv screens in some vlocitys - damn annoying they are too.
V/Line have been trialling new digital information screens in some of our VLocity trains. To go in the draw to win a family ticket to the Melbourne Aquarium plus V/Line travel there and back, just follow the link below to give us your feedback.
Competition closes at 5pm on 31st August 2011.
How did this slip past the keeper?
perhaps view from cab, etc. etc.?
If it's better than the TV I saw on the 670 bus at Chirnside Park the other day it's doing fine. The TV on that bus is apparently supposed to advertise local businesses and news (Maroondah in this case), but all it advertised was a Windows XP crash dialog instead.
What's presently on the screens is advertising for events that V/Line is sponsoring - pretty much what's plastered over/inside some trains and in V/Line Voice - and details about taking bikes and luggage on trains, pre-booked/long haul services and about the screens themselves.
