He's not going to run out of money - he's not clever enough to win the auctions. And if you're playing the same game and bidding him up days before the end then neither are you.

Bid late, bid once and bid your max.

Well things can be a joke on Ebay. I seen rollingstock go way over priced.
Number 1, what caused this. people are bidding far too early for the item
Number 2/ people are placing bids with large amounts of money.

I been dealing with Ebay for a few years now and I know the game.

A nice freindly tip for Railpage Australia™™ users out there there are tricks out there to get items cheap and a fair price on Ebay.
Number 1, watch the item in your my ebay list.
Number 2, don,t bid too early
Number 3, place your bid in the last dieing seconds
Number 4, use buy it now if its avail.

So You train models collector like myself have fun Ebaying

I'll ask people not to excessivly post links to shonky items, it may be in fact helping them.

So let's continue the discussion.

Condition: New: A brand-new, unused, unopened, undamaged item.

All true apart from this minor bit-

It is in VR Blue & Gold and has Kadee couplers fitted.. When I was fitting Kadee couplers to it a accidentally drilled a hole in the door on one end, but when it has something coupled to it, it is not noticeable...  It has no box but will be well wrapped for postage..

Surprised

Maybe it's just me, or the camera lense distortion, but this wagon looks a bit bent no?  Neutral

I seem to recall one of Powerline's product lines coming out the factory a little 'skewed', was this wagon affected too?

Drilled a hole in the door on one end, where the hell was he putting the Kadees onto, to put Kadees on one of these cars the hole you need to drill is well away from the doors on the end any way.

I always use Auction Sniper. I set a price I want to pay and if goes over that amount too bad and I do not have to be at my computer during the auction as I have better things to do. Otherwise I go for items that have a buy now price. As I purchase mainly from the USA, the buy now prices are mostly much cheaper than local prices.

I used Auction Sniper to buy a brass N&W Jawn Henry from Dans Train Depot in Florida and he moaned that I got it too cheap. I thought, tough luck.

Laughing Maybe the packaging is bent on the opposite way to try and make the photo look normal.

Also the wagon is bent in both directions if you look at the photo. It is not just bent longways but across as well! Must of been a very distorted lens that bends in all sorts of directions exactly where the wagon is. Shocked

Anyone else think that this sellers items are fetching prices are a little bit on the 'high' side? (well, considering both models are still available from Austrains)

$460 for a Southern Spirit NR when you can still get one from Austrains Shocked
  David Peters Dr Beeching

Location: "With Hey Boy".
The DL is not that bad a price, but  the NR is just plain stupid, $490 for it was the winning bid. Even at the full price for a new model would have been cheaper. Oh well fools and their money are soon parted. Rolling Eyes

I think that I need to go to the shop and buy myself one and put it on ebay to make a profit .

I thought prices only go up when they are rare and sold out ?
