NearMap has recently been updated and you quite see extensively how much work has been done since the last updates in February and April.

Agree, newest Nearmaps shots, 9-5-12, are terrific.
However, one question that may have already been raised - sorry if that's the case - at the location north of Glenfield Jn, where the SSFL flyover is being built to take the SSFL over the main south, are there earthworks for a triangular junction with the East Hills line to give access to the Moorebank thingy? Will there also need to be a connection at Glenfield so that Up south freights can leave the SSFL and get onto the Up EH, to get into Moorebank?
Will this also require creation of a triangle at the Moorebank junction? And duplication of the Moorebank branch?
If the answers to the above are YES, then we'll finish up with a forest of triangular junctions to rival that at Flemington (well, nearly).

Cheers

There is no triangle junction planned. the moorebank thingy is a freight thingy and the east hills line is a passenger thingy that doesn't carry freight.

At this stage, no. The Moorebank terminal(s) are all planned to access the SSFL in the Liverpool/Casula area, keeping the East Hills line free for passenger services. Of course, these things could change in the future, but it seems the smartest option would be to connect them to the SSFL, reducing any conflicts between passenger and freight movements, of which passenger would always win, which would then defeat the purpose of the SSFL (imagine a train being held up, blocking the SSFL to wait to follow a passenger train along the EH line to the freight terminal).

Thanx for that Raichase.  Didn't realise that the Morebank terminal would connect with the SSFL further up nearer Liverpool. I had assumed that it would make use of the stub off the EH line somehow, but this will probly remain as a fire-fighting branch for the cremation of V-set cars.
The SSFL connection nearer Liverpool will
