It may show them on the screen that shows the Bankstown line trains instead, given that they depart from Platform 22.
"jaseee"

I checked, it wasn't there. I'll check again next week then. It should still be there as it is an East Hills train (as indicated on the line diagram below the PID)

I cannot stand it when people use the argument "get a life" to justify their comments, because it implies that, just because someone has a narrow area of interest, that person must have "no life".

Seriously though, if it bugs you so much that you take a photograph and come to an online forum to whinge about it, take it up with RailCorp or NSW Transport. It is getting very tiresome to see thread after thread derailed with petty whinging about every single aspect that CityRail "fails". Photos of ciggarette butts, photos of indicator boards, etc... You're not going to get anywhere by whinging on an enthusiast forum, so take it up with the organisation concerned.

This was sighted on Platform 1 at Glenfield, How come it's not Museum via Regents Park, but City Circle?
"boxythingy"

It has been programmed this way for a long time.

I think it's still understandable.

This isn't exactly whinging, but rather questions raised in response for an answer from those who may know.

Just like every single other post you make that conveniently makes an observation about something you obviously deem to be inappropriate, and then pass it off with an air of "oh, I was just OBSERVING this was so". Pull the other one.

Looks like Flemmington Station got PIDs installed today.

Flemo getting upgraded. Sam won't have to go out and change the timetables anymore. #cityrail #2140 instagr.am/p/LW-4bCIU7-/

The correct avenue, rather then asking a bunch of people who may or may not know is the actual operator: RailCorp

Isn't exactly whinging, so it is a bit of whinge and hence proving what you have said in the past is actually false. Interesting Rolling Eyes

Apologies if I've already asked this (I remember taking it but perhaps forgot to post it?), but is this a former CRT Screen PID at Minto?

Not that I know of.  A display was attached to that white rail above the box, but I wasn't aware of a CRT display.  Any idea what the metal plate on the side of the cabinet says?

I'll need to take a closer look next time.

Anyway, the former CRTs were replaced in May on the Sprint Platform at Lidcombe

I wonder why they didn't opt for x2 dual screen standard suburban platform ones to better fill the spot, the two vertical ones aligned to the left there, rather than the middle makes it feel as though something is missing.

Macdonaldtown received PIDS yesterday (Thursday)

The PIDs at Macdonaldtown.

They were not in service and showing the desktop, meaning that they have either not been commissioned yet or it was related to the problem I saw at other stations this morning, where all the PIDs were not working, with black screen and CityRail logo. There is an LED clock above the PID on platform 2 but it was not working either. There was no blue concourse indicators at the entrance either.

Thanks to abesty1's post for reminding me. Here are the pics for the ones at Flemington. They also installed screens on Platform 1 and 2 for some reason (Not photographed).

I also noticed something strange on the Platform 2 PID at Sydenham today. The screen kept display Terminating and Empty trains as "Next trains" (ie. on the screen closest to the platform edge), but they never turned up. Were they delayed or is this some sort of struggle during trackwork? This was around 1:00pm

Not yet commissioned.  They were still being connected at 7pm on Friday, and had "Display under test" signs affixed to them.

Often this is just the system self-correcting itself. If a train terminates and forms another service, it will change to "that service" instead of terminates as soon as it realises. Empty train's normally only appear if it's possible they will stop alongside the platform, otherwise it will normally be "special" or "does not stop".

Oh alright, I've only ever seen this sort of thing happening at terminating stops but never at any other or Interchange stops. Thanks.

Yes, becuase those platforms are never used during weekend trackwork, a time when you need as much information as possible because everything is topsy turvy. Wasteful, you're so right.  Rolling Eyes

Although they are always left on... even when there is no trackwork. Surely can't they implement something to turn them on/off remotely? Not all computer equipment can do this, but I have a monitor and some simple software that can be scheduled to turn it on (as long as it stays plugged in) when it's powered down.
