PID List?

Croydon PIDs now active and working, including the wasteful ones on the main and surburban lines.

Yes, becuase those platforms are never used during weekend trackwork, a time when you need as much information as possible because everything is topsy turvy. Wasteful, you're so right.  Rolling Eyes
"Raichase"

Although they are always left on... even when there is no trackwork. Surely can't they implement something to turn them on/off remotely? Not all computer equipment can do this, but I have a monitor and some simple software that can be scheduled to turn it on (as long as it stays plugged in) when it's powered down.

I have little doubt that people like yourself will then post mobile phone photos of them in outrage that they are "broken", followed by a letter to the editor.  Rolling Eyes

Then they'll be switched on full-time, and then someone will decide it's a waste of energy and then post more mobile phone photos of them in outrage, decrying the "waste", followed by yet another letter to the editor. Rolling Eyes

You can't win.

I know very well when they are supposed to work, Thank you. Especially when I know the train will arrive on that platform, or I am on the train beside the platform.

Newtown has received PIDS - 2 sets on each platform.  They are currently not operating, and are covered up to protect them while construction work continues.

Newtown upgrade is coming along quite well, looks like it might be done soon.

This post, like many others before this, is NOT a 'whinge'.
It is interesting that this appeared at Leumeah although it sees no intercity trains with more than 4 cars stopping. Mistake?

It's just advertising- there are not quite suburban carriages at this stage. So, no, not a mistake.

I don't either, but it was strange how it just flashed and disappeared before one could even blink.

Surprised no one has mentioned Windsor!

Saw something interesting at Glenfield today: White, Yellow and Green line colours on Platform 1.

I saw the same thing this evening at Liverpool, not that I really care.

Seems a bit peculiar that those PIDs refer to the City Railway as the "City Circle", as most PIDs simply list the station as its destination, eg "Town Hall" or "Museum"

I've raised this before and apparently this seems to be normal for the Inner West Line only...
I'm definitely sure Airport & East Hills- Town Hall, Museum (via Sydenham)
South Line- Museum
Bankstown Line- Town Hall.

Does anyone know is this is an old PID? It is at Tuggerah and now covered up with taxi information signs and there is also one at Gosford and two at Wyong which are similar.

They used to be information screens of some sort, yes. They were red dot matrix if memory serves me well enough (Well, Wyongs were).

I can't remember what was showing on them, however.

It seems the PIDs at Cabramatta were out of action tonight (around 6:00pm) . No other surrounding stations had problems
