First of all, I am not making the point of a 15min frequency between Macarthur and Revesby- This acknowledge will not happen for a very long time.
What I am trying to say is, if they are not willing/unable to offer greater frequency because of the difficulties that specific services such as the 9:21am Campbelltown, which is almost always delayed, there should be a temporary
solution implemented, such as the service being timetabled as something like say 9:26am. for example This is because that is when it usually arrives. Even if this does not fix the situation, and say that the train arrives 5 minutes late, at least it would still be "on time" (9:32am), vs retaining the current 9:21am time which would make the train 13 minutes late, added on top of waiting time.
Of course such a timetable change would be and is trivial, even I think so too, however we have to look at the reality
and that it is unacceptable to sit on one's hands and do absolutely nothing
to prevent/minimise regular occurrences of irregular waiting times of +9min, +4min, +12min rather than say just 5-6minutes waiting time for every other service which is not affected by well known and reoccurring events.
I understand that this issue is not only of my concern, I have contacted CityRail who forever is working with the ATRC to improve services and have been made aware that others too are inconvenienced.
The tracks down south have improved quite a bit over the last few months, which has improved the OTR of Southern Highlands services, and Canberra to an extent.
I might go down to Sydney Terminal on the Sunday and see the first down Bathurst Cityrail train service.
There used to be a time when there were more 9:21am Campbelltown trains which arrived within
5 minutes, then it deteriorated before improving and now it is back to the deteriorated state.
