6wp2 also had a ballast plough on the rear of those ballast wagons...

Those railcorp wagons and plow are getting trucked from Perth along with 2 K classes to build the new Kiara line.

Bit of thread revival here, but this afternoon an eastbound PN intermodal freighter came to a stop prior to the siding just east of the centre of Northam, blocking both crossings in town (Yilgarn Ave and Northam - Pithara Road). It was stationary for a few minutes (ten or so), then moved on slowly.

Any reason for this out of the ordinary?

Probably the annual Xmas run to Rawlinna.

Due to space constrains at Kewdale, every Xmas PN run a full set of wagons to Rawlinna to stable them until after New Year.

Basically, there is nowhere closer to hold a long rake of wagons. WestNet charge for storage by the hour, and the first siding on the Trans long enough is the Rawlinna mine spur (Approx 3.5km long)

Saw that this morning, but was gone tonight. Did the IP make it out of East Perth before it failed?

Just a curiosity question that came from looking through the Bunbury Street Railcam pics.

It had one service listed as 3MP7 as being "TOLL" Superfreighter.

Therefore got me thinking, are all Pacific National intermodal services actually Toll services with PN providing Hook & Pull, or are some services run under a different banner?
Likewise, as the Steel Link services actually Bluescope Services, or just conveying Bluescope materials.

Cheers

How often do the DLs come to Perth now? I think they stopped being regular visitors about 2007 didn't they, or was it later than that? I've never actually photographed one.
