Trains are being diverted via other lines around the trackwork area which is causing congestion to all services that travel through Homebush. Western Line services are running via Rhodes, Olympic Park and Berala.

How did Western Line services run via Rhodes, Olympic Park and Berala???

Renaming CityRail to Sydney Trains has been a massive success, is this politics for dumbo's or something?

Question, why would they be sent up the Homebush loop to Rhodes for?

Probably to avoid a worksite.

There is a triangle at Lidcombe at well (I assume it's still electrified?!) so trains could run straight from Regents Park to Auburn.

That would be a logical assumption - The wires are still there, but whether or not they get used...

Yes the Lidcombe Triangle Loop is in regular use by electric trains for positioning moves and I'd assume freighters going to Yennora from down South.

Sticking on topic, from late this morning:

Newcastle & Central Coast Line:

Passengers catching the 9:15am Central to Newcastle train were advised to allow an additional 15 minutes travel time due to a medical emergency at Turramurra earlier.

Thanks for that; I've never seen it get used, so I wasn't sure if it did still get used.

Problems at Regents Park this morning with a train getting caught up in the OHW, looks like C13 was the culprit.

Still ongoing problems.

The Bankstown Line is partially closed between Bankstown and Lidcombe in both directions and the Inner West Line is partially closed between Sefton and Lidcombe in both directions due to urgent overhead wiring repairs at Regents Park. Buses are replacing trains between Bankstown and Lidcombe via Regents Park in both directions. An additional train service is also running between Homebush and Central in both directions and is stopping at all stations. Passengers who normally travel from Regents Park or Berala are advised to make alternative arrangements to Lidcombe or Bankstown stations or catch replacement buses. Additionally passengers on the Airport & East Hills Line are advised to allow additional travel time as some trains are being affected by the partial closures. Passengers are advised to allow additional travel time, check indicator boards and listen to station announcements.

Cumberland Line:

Passengers are advised to allow additional travel time as the 4.32pm Blacktown to Campbelltown and 5.32pm Blacktown to Campbelltown trains have been cancelled due to a staffing issue and urgent overhead wiring repairs at Regents Park. Passengers will need to travel to Granville then change for a South Line train to complete their journey.

* edited.

Olympic Park Line

Passengers are advised to allow additional travel time as trains on the Olympic Park Line are operating every 20 minutes (instead of every 10 minutes) due to a staffing issue and urgent overhead wiring repairs at Regents Park.

(Bankstown, Inner West, )South and Airport & East Hills Lines:

Trains are running again on the Bankstown Line from Lidcombe to Bankstown and on the Inner West Line from Lidcombe to Sefton. But the Bankstown Line remains partially closed from Bankstown to Lidcombe, and the Inner West Line remains partially closed from Sefton to Lidcombe as overhead wiring repairs continue at Regents Park. Bankstown Line passengers travelling to Regents Park, Berala or the Inner West Line are advised to make their way to Bankstown, where a replacement bus service is operating to Lidcombe. South Line passengers travelling to Regents Park or Berala are advised to catch a train to Lidcombe via Granville, then change for a train to Berala or Regents Park. Passengers are advised to allow extra travel time, check indicator boards at stations and listen to announcements. Passengers on the Airport & East Hills Line are also advised to allow additional travel time as some trains are being affected by the partial closures.

Western Line - Delays

Frequent trains are running, however passengers on the Western and Blue Mountains lines should allow additional travel time due to an act of vandalism on equipment at Rooty Hill. As a result, signals are affected at Rooty Hill and CityRail staff are directing the trains slowly past them. Passengers are advised to check indicator boards and listen to station announcements.

Anybody know what happened?

Blue Mountains Line - Major delays

CityRail advises that some trains are being delayed on the Blue Mountains Line following apolice operation at Mt Victoria earlier. Buses may supplement some trains until 6.00pm. CityRail staff are working hard to bring services back to normal timetable as quickly as possible. Major delays can still be expected.

According to the NSW police facebook page, police were called to Mt Victoria station at 1:55pm. They arrested a man with the aid of capsicum spray. He reportedly had a live hand grenade in his back pack and was threatening passengers on the train.
