Of course. I managed that handball of the quiz very quickly, didn't I.

Edit: accidentally attributed the first answer to Valvegear

Another easy one:

Sounds a bit like a Middle Eastern pastry could be the go.

Balaclava?

Too easy.  Balaclava sounds a bit like baklava, which is a middle eastern sweet pastry.

Over to Speed .....

I'm having problems with my home computer. I sent a mail to the moderators address asking for an open floor call.

It looks  like my computer's working now but I don't know what fixed it. I'll call open floor anyway.

OK, I'll have another go.

The Scottish butcher has a good selection of haggis and black puddings for the discerning Celt.  Ham and bacon are also available.

No response, so time for an expanded clue:

The Scottish butcher hides in a north eastern suburb, and has a good selection of haggis and black puddings for the discerning Celt.  Ham and bacon are also available.

Macleod ?

Not Macleod.

Hint:  read the clue carefully.

By jove, why didn't I think of that.Rolling Eyes

It's the longest cryptic clue I've ever seen.

This Scottish butcher, is his name Dennis by chance ?
  duttonbay Minister for Railways

I'm a Dennis, and my ancestors of that name came from Cornwall. The Scottish side of my family were named Craig and Arrol.

(Just thought I would let you all know that - I have absolutely no idea about this clue at all)  Smile

Eltham?
  Lad_Porter Chief Commissioner

Location: Yarra Glen
Not Dennis.  Speed has it with Eltham (not just a guess, I hope - the answer is embedded in the clue):

The Scottish butcher hides in a north eastern suburb, and has a good selection of haggis and black puddings for the discerning Celt. Ham and bacon are also available.

Take it away, Speed.
  Speed Minister for Railways

I saw the Celt and saw the Ham and thought of Eltham. I have also thought of baklava when reading the name Balaclava. It's more appealing than haggis or a mouth-covering hat.

Something else Scottish or maybe an Asian gambling city. Just not holy.
  Lad_Porter Chief Commissioner

Location: Yarra Glen
Has to be Macaulay.
Scottish = Mac
Asian gambling city = Macau
Not holy = lay
  Speed Minister for Railways

Macaulay is correct for the reasons stated.

Lad Porter, please deal another one.

OK, let's try this one:

The Spanish have a bad day with M's predecessor and the Italian, and they all have to go back to the end of the line.
  Alamein_Line Chief Commissioner

Williamstown ?
  Lad_Porter Chief Commissioner

Location: Yarra Glen
Not Williamstown.

I'm interested to see how the clue is decrypted, to come up with a particular station name.  There are several steps to follow in this one.
  Lad_Porter Chief Commissioner

Location: Yarra Glen
Time for some clues:

The Spanish have a bad day with M's predecessor and the Italian, and they all have to go back to the end of the line.

Words for "the" are EL in Spanish, and IL in Italian.  More to follow if needed.

Somerville ?

I can see where you got some of Somerville from, but no, not Somerville.

Sounds a lot like Lillydale to me. ('End of the line' and includes El + Il)
