I've been trying to get onto the Kieran Ryan Models website (http://www.krmodels.com.au/index.html) for a few weeks now with no luck. Does anyone know if it still works? Is he still in business?

It works fine for me, I access pages I haven't been to before as well and no problems.

Hit F5 on your browser to force a refresh if it still doesn't work.

No problems accessing it when I followed the URL you posted. Try forcing a refresh of your browser (hold CTRL and press the refresh icon, or do a CTRL+F5).

Works for me as well clicking on your link, goes straight to the site no problems at all.

As for your question is KRM still in business? Yes.

Confirmed working at home, here, also.

As a few people have mentioned, clear out your browser cache and possibly reboot the router and clear your DNS cache, also. (The last step only if you're handy with the command line, I suppose!) There are addons for Firefox that make it a one click clean for the cache, also. (Empty Cache Button 2.2)

Another website that is handy for this sort of thing is: http://isup.me/ As the name on the site implies, "Down for everyone or just me"...

As already stated, yes the site and business are still running.

Just this week I received upgrade kits for my NPRY hoppers.

Their handrail bending jig would have to be one of the most useful modelling tools I have ever bought - Might have to upgrade and buy the new version !

FWIW I had no probs viewing the site on iPad, wp8 or IE8.

Further to the is he still in business question, does anyone know if he finished the Peak Hill layout?

I followed his design for modules and built one about 7 yrs ago, albeit out of mdf rather than ply. It subsequently sagged due to moisture and was tossed before I had a chance to landscape. Anyway I saw the other night he had a blog, though not updated, he's got the modules redesigned for square section aluminum tube, but still nothing on the completed layout. I'm just curious if the layout's finished and if there's photos floating round of how these modules look all lined up.

It was Wagga exhibition, late Sunday afternoon after wash up in the car park. Keiran approches me and a mate," I want to get you, Steve, Tom Dick n Harry, get Peak Hill happening with all this talent", or words to that effect. "I'll give you a call in the next couple of weeks and get the ball rolling". That was 5th November, 2005, we're all still waiting for that call LOL

LOL, fair enough. So any day now hehe. I shouldn't laugh though as I'm kind of in the same boat.

I'd say it's something local to your machine, maybe a DNS issue (old records?) or something blocking it, spyware/malware etc, or the cache isn't clearing.

Did you try that http://www.isup.me link and see what that says? (Type the address into the search box on the site and hit enter - see what the message comes back with, it won't tell you exactly why you cannot connect, however)

Are you on Windows? If so, hit Start, Run, type: cmd (enter) then type ping http://www.krmodels.com.au (enter) You should then get 4 lines saying Reply From ....... time=200ms (as an example)

See how that goes and let us know what that says.

I did the Start>Run thing you suggested and it ran three lines of text then said "the request timed out" and quickly self-closed.

I tried it on a different computer using IE, ran the troubleshooter and it reckons it's a problem with the DNS cache. Googling how to clear that now. I envisage that the end result may look something like the last 60 seconds of Dr Strangelove, and if so, well, thanks, it's been real 8)

No worries, hopefully it was somewhat helpful...

If you type CMD first, that will allow you to see the output. In any case, seeing it won't change that you cannot get to it anyway!

Certainly something up with either your PC's DNS settings or the DNS settings in the router. Have you changed ISP's recently? It might be worth trying to set your DNS settings to use Google's DNS servers. There's a guide from Google how to do that for Windows.

Also, open CMD and type ipconfig /flushdns

That'll clear it! D

And apologies for the nerdy talk, part of the job, literally... lol
