I've gotten out of bed earlier this morning to do all of my internet time-wasting before I do my exam study today Smile. For the East Hills, I'm not exactly crying that the Macarthur services are express Holsworthy-Wolli Creek however I'd have things a bit different:

The tt proposes (per hour):
1 Macarthur/Campbelltown, all to Holsworthy then Wolli Creek via Airport to City
2 Macarthur, all to Riverwood, Wolli Creek via Airport to City
4 Revesby all to City via Airport
1 Kingsgrove, Wolli Creek via Airport to City
peak Campbelltown, all to Revesby, Sydenham, Redfern, City

The way I'd have it is (per hour):
1 Macarthur/Campbelltown, all to Revesby, then Wolli Creek via Airport to City
3 Macarthur, all to Riverwood, Beverly Hills, Kingsgrove, Wolli Creek via Airport to City
4 Revesby, all to Wolli Creek via Airport to City.
peak Campbelltown, all to Revesby, Sydenham, Redfern, City

This means:
A) Campbelltown wins as it still get a fast service to the city, with 4 trains per hour and a faster peak train.
B) Glenfield-Revesby wins as they also get 4 trains an hour
C) Riverwood, Padstow, Kingsgrove win as they get an extra train an hour
D) Beverly Hills don't win as they lose their via Sydenham peak but they don't lose really either as they get an extra 3 per hour in off-peak.

Hi BC,

Just had look through the proposed TT.  I don't know but I suspect there is now a requirement to operate 10min max headways on the airport line all day.  I thought it was just in peak before but I could be wrong.  The Kingsgrove trains all skip Turrella, BPk & BN - they are just racing to the turnback.

And yes, you could operate the timetable as you propose, but it'd mean operating 2 extra trains off peak.  It's purely a cost/benefit choice.
