Where does grain go when it goes by rail in WA?

Like for example from Hyden where would grain end up.

Is there a difference between where Kondinin grain ends up and Kulin grain with the line cut between the two?

Does grain all go to the same place?

Also how much of the York to Bruce Rock line is still open? I know that the Bruce Rock end is cut off having been there but at York the line looked open.

1. Grain goes to Albany, Kwinana, Geraldton and occasionally Esperance
2. Grain from the Hyden line, Newdegate line and all points south of Wagin go to Albany. Grain from points north from Coorow and Maya go to Geraldton. All other grain trains run to Kwinana, except Esperance line when they run which clearly go there.
3. From Kondinin north and Corrigin north the grain goes on the narrow gauge to Merredin where it is transhipped to standard gauge trains. Kulin south goes direct to Kwinana via Narrogin / Northam
4. York to Quairading is still open - Quairading to Bruce Rock is closed.
5. Brookton - Corrigin closed with many other lines in 1957. Not sure when the rails were removed but it would have been not long after.

The official closure date for the Brookton - Corrigin line is listed as 17th November 1961

Sorry - I should clarify my statement.

Services suspended 1957 (17th June 1957 to be exact). I imagine then the line would have been ripped up after the official closure, most likely early 1962.

Around 1987 I think. Basically the line closed due the the 45lb rail and the demise of the main class of loco allowed to work over it - the good ol' X class.

Grain Ports are Geraldton, Kwinana, Albany and Esperance

Hyden grain goes to Albany via Lake Grace and Wagin

No - All different ports. Road transport is used as well as rail. Eg Wickepin and Salmon Gums

York to Quariading is open I think - but bridge at York is shaky

Why woul Wickepin go by road from what I saw the rail looked well set up fron grain transport

How does the forrestfield grain  terminal fit into the logistics of it all?
