Waverley Model Railway Exhibition this weekend!!

  LBAT Station Staff

Howdy all

The Waverly MRC exhibition is on this Queen’s Birthday weekend, June 8th, 9th and 10th.
The venue is the Brandon Park Community Centre, Ferntree Gully Road, Glen Waverley, opposite the Brandon Park Shopping Centre.
The hours are: Saturday 8th June 10:00am – 6:00pm
Sunday 9th June 10:00am – 5:00pm
Monday 10th June 10:00am – 4:00pm

Not sure exactly which layouts will be on display, but LBAT will be there with some new products, as will Austrains and Blue & Gold.

Hope to see everyone there.

Cheers

Lyndon

The best bets are these:
693 - Belgrave - Oakleigh via Ferntree Gully, Brandon Park  (from Oakleigh station)
850 - Dandenong - Glen Waverley via Mulgrave, Brandon Park (from Glen Waverley station)
I have no idea of timetables though, especially over the weekend. The hall is about 3km from Glen Waverley station, so at worst it's about a 30-35 minute walk.

From Heidelberg West if you take the 903 towards Mordialloc and change at Doncaster shoppingtown
to the 902 Chelsea it stops at Brandon Park shopping centre opposite the exhibition.
all the times and details are on Metlinks website

Managed to pop in to the show this afternoon.

There were some interesting layouts on display, and a good selection of trade stands (walked away with some M cattle wagons and a Y class from Austrains Wink). It wasn't too crowded today so easy to stroll around and see everything at your leisure.

There were a couple of lovely N-scale layouts I hadn't seen before, Llanfair PG and St Nerenauf; and WMRC club layouts Georgetown and Mystic & Oblivion, which have given me a few ideas for my own N-scale layout.

I took a few pics of the Brick City lego layout for my nephews, if anyone's interested ..

(keep an eye out for the chicken!)

Congratulations and thanks to the organisers.

I see from our talking horse friend (Mr Ed) that Austrains was represented.  Merely idle curiosity, but was John Eassie there?

On his web site Exhibition Diary it lists Austrains attending both Waverley and Epping this weekend.  Did anyone sight the man himself at either location?

Best regards,
John
