CFCL Australia - CF4412 (Friday 7th June)

      Raichase Captain Rant!

    Location: Sydney, NSW
    The following information has been made available to me courtesy of CFCL Australia, with the encouragement to spread it around so that everyone has a chance to get out and photograph the special movement. No secret society, no secret information, just honest "bring on the enthusiasts". Hopefully as many as possible are out and about to capture this unique occasion!

    The consist is expected to be CF4412, CF4411 and three cars.

    CF4412 is to be named "Black Caviar", and will carry a unique livery to reflect this.

    Friday 7th of June:
    Arrives into Sydney Terminal 10am for naming ceremony
    Departs 11am.
    Stop at Hawkesbury River
    Gosford arr 12.30, dep 1.30pm (plan is to turn it)
    Stop at Hawkesbury River
    Arrives back into Sydney Terminal 3pm
    Sits at Eveleigh until Monday afternoon and runs back to Thirlmere.

    Good to see they are still carrying on with the Horse Naming Theme. Will be interesting to see what the uniquie will be like.

    You're not far off. The information forwarded on to me included a description of the colour scheme, but I don't want to ruin the surprise. Guess people will need to get out and see the movement for themselves! Not often that one finds a chance to photograph freight locomotives on a passenger train, even less likely for such an event to be advertised!

    Black Caviar never ran in a Melbourne Cup.  She is a sprinter not a stayer.

    I'm terribly sorry to hear that. I was passed this information from CFCL Australia, so perhaps your sources are incorrect.

    My sources confirmed your sources were incorrect. I won't name my source though as that could provide validation toward the ill-informed nature of my sources...though they are never wrong.

    This image is on most other sites, it is hardly a secret however apologies to those who did not have an idea of the livery and have not looked at the many other places on the internet which those images are already available.

    These photo's have been lifted from the TDU facebook group, not sure on the first, but the second is by John Valentine. Please credit the photographers when using their photo's. It not hurt to also let the photographer know you plan to use their photo.
