This morning (07:30) masts were being unloaded and positioned next to their footings between the Hilton Bridges and old Keswick.
Are they using the concrete stobie poles or the steel portal structures (like Adelaide yard) on the 4 track section?
It would be smart to do as much installation as possible between Nairne Junction and Keswick in next 4 weeks, before the Belair trains start running again.
Looks like the Belair Line is reopening on the 1st of July and not the 14th. . . . .
Looks like the Belair Line is reopening on the 1st of July and not the 14th. Adelaide Metro inadvertently said it in this announcementNothing they couldn't go back on in that. Especially if they blame it on the Victoria Square roadworks.

This tends to put the kybosh on other statements about the difficulties of the overhead encroaching on third party property, if it was possible to "sort this out" with GSR, then why not along the Belair line. The GSR terminal belongs to the SA Minister of Transport and is leased to GSR as the "Passenger Operator" pursuant to the 1997 sale of Australian National legislation.
Marion and Daws Road bridges I heard are having masts installed on them now any news on this? The approach to the Marion Road bridge from the Seaford side has had masts for a while, but there was no masts on the actual bridges or on the embankment connecting the two bridges last time I looked (which was a few days ago, so might have changed now)

Thanks for those great pictures - is it just me or the crossover hasn't been put into the catenary yet? Looks that way. Anyway, fantastic to see it taking shape, looks like a proper urban railway now.
With regards to those signs, "Danger live overhead wires" is probably going to temp some ferals who otherwise (without the signs) probably wouldn't even be aware of them. Oh well... as my old grandpa used to say, you'll never stop stupid people doing silly things.
