The average price increase across the 20 ticket types this time around is 3.1%, with the median increase being 3.3%. The increase in the Consumer Price Index from March 2012 to March 2013 was 2.2% in Adelaide (2.5% across Australia, all groups), which shows the price of public transport to the end user is continuing to outpace the overall cost of living, and running at well over double the transport group at 1.4% (whole of Australia).
Not good news for those who only use public transport because they're too poor to drive, especially without the option to buy up Multitrip Metrotickets before the price hike.
