Living close to rail line

    Regarding the freight line into Forrestfield, between Forrestfield and possibly Millendon which would be the house to live in that is closest to the railway line?

    I have just inherited a large sum of money and want to pursue my ambition to live as close as possible to the rail line. I want to hear the trains coming and feel them roar past. Money is no obstacle. If the house is not for sale I will present an offer that is too good to refuse. And if I need to knock the house over and re-build then I will do it.

    What's most important is the distance from my house to the railway. It must be CLOSE!

    Hazelmere might be worth checking out. Some of the houses are quite close with nothing obstructing the view. Or maybe Stratton or Swan view might also be worth checking out.

    Thanks for the heads up. I rang the agent today and the property is under offer. Agent is pretty sure the sale will go through.

    One of the places in the small triangle of land bounded by the Midland Railway, the Avon Valley Line and Haddrill Road was for sale a little while back, not sure if it still is. I would have loved to live in there, surrounded by rail movements!

    If you wanted to live in Fremantle, I don't think there are many places as close as this block of townhouses, especially the one at the Pillimore st end LOL?

    According to google maps satellite view, there's a group of houses on Wayne st Hazelmere that border on to the rail reserve, perhaps 10 - 20 meters away from the rail line.

    Over and over again i see people in these forums bagging "Dreamers".. But right here we have a WINNER!!

    This is the story of the day for me.  Thank you for putting such a smile on this face.

    I like the idea of a living at a junction so I'd ask the bloke in the Blue colour bond house on the bend in Wynne St in Hazelmere as I recon he can see the points down at the triangle from his second story..  Apart from the fact it's a cool looking house.

    if you have money, buy and deck out a couple of carriages, one for eating dining and one for sleeping then just attached your new "houses" to trains as they go around the country for the rest of your life Very Happy
