Have to agree with that. Being in God's Own Country, I don't get to see the logo all that often, and am unfamiliar with the rollout.

BUT, if there was any doubt, the roll-out would have stopped until it was resolved, in order to reduce the amount of damages payable if TA were to win. The more it is rolled out, the bigger the damages claim.

But then, we have all seen rail lines upgraded at a huge cost just before the lines were closed, so who knows.....

Typically there is some mention of "a lawsuit" in the media, especially given that the media has already commented on how similar the logos appeared to be. From the original story, it was not Tennis Australia having a fuss but a media outlet (obviously anti-government). Tennis Australia made no comment. As that's all that appears to have been reported on, until something concrete comes out, it seems like it's yet another false rumour spread by anti-government types looking to undermine and cause dissension.

If it is one thing I have learnt, there is always truth to a mealroom rumour, even if it is just a touch. Who's to say that the "Lawsuit" isn't just at a mediation level so that it doesn't have to go to court? Yep, the ol' "if you haven't heard a rumour by 9am, make one up" rule does apply, but I haven't seen the need for it. Plenty of the ones I have heard recently have actually had a bit of truth thrown. This one probably isn't any different.

So no action at all on a particular type of train is enough to support rumours, but continued action on another type of train is easily dismissed? Some of you are too busy looking for straws to grasp to support your personal agendas that you forget to look at the facts.

I'll consider something is "up" when the new logo is being removed from trains, stations and uniforms. Whilst it continues to be rolled out on trains, signage, posters, uniforms and internal/external publication, I'm very unwilling to concede that there was even the slightest chance that they'd have to backtrack.

Has it not occurred to anyone that perhaps the new logo might be rolled out onto silver sets LAST, whilst the Tangara/M Set trains might be waiting to get the same treatment as the Waratahs - just because the process is in place at Auburn, doesn't mean that it is not in the process of being rolled out to other maintenence centres. Perhaps new logos will only occur as part of a CCO at Maintrain? I understand a Millennium train is in Maintrain now having a full overhaul, perhaps it will emerge looking similar to a Waratah?

However, I state again, I'm very upfront about being willing to admit I was incorrect when an official statement comes out confirming this "lawsuit". Until that happens, due to an overwhelming lack of... well, anything... to support this mealroom gossip, may I suggest people just move on with their lives, rather than perpetuating a rumour with no factual basis.

While my knowledge of trademark law is very limited (and I'm not a lawyer) I don't see what basis Tennis Australia would have for a lawsuit.  The last time I was standing in front of a ticket vending machine I don't recall any confusion about whether I was buying a MyTrain to Central or an Australian Open entry.  That's before we start considering whether the images are really all that similar.

If I was running the advocacy/management organisation for a sport, the last thing I would want my lawyers doing is pissing off a state government unnecessarily.  You might win the odd battle, but not the war - the balance of power in any serious contest would be rather asymmetric.

What irritates me more about the various rebranding's is that they didn't reserve/haven't yet got around to squishing the various domain squatters.  That was/is silly.

That is not true T88. The CityRail logos have not been removed from all trains. A minority of sets still have CityRail logos on them. Though there aren't many left.

It's very hard to tell given your stringent belief in a pointless mealroom rumour when all of the evidence supporting it is missing, and evidence to the contrary is ignored. One would expect you to continue to push your anti-RailCorp/Sydney Trains agenda to the point of ridiculousness.

I know things take time but this is getting ridiculous with no logos on the sets as mentioned. Even a few waratahs are floating around without markings. Uniforms, posters and other paper marketing were sorted long ago. Have you noticed that many stations are now no longer displaying marketing material in the blue information stands? No new ticket wallets. Because they have none.  My point is the majority of trains are still naked.

Again, you continue to ignore the rapid rollout of the logo across the Waratah. As for uniforms being sorted "months ago", the new uniform was only rolled out en-masse on day one of the company. Which was 22 days ago. Hardly a long time, I would think. Never mind the V Set rolling around in a shiny new colour scheme with new logos. Never mind that we've yet to see any trains come out of a major overhaul WITHOUT the new logo.

I hardly believe everything I see in the media, I'm intelligent enough to make an informed decision with the facts at hand. I'm not continuing to use a lack of change as evidence of a rumour started by anti-government grumblers. I've said it repeatedly, when an official acknowledgement of... well, anything is made by The Government, NSW Transport or the media, then I'll give some credit to this notion. Otherwise, I'll continue to dismiss it as fiction. Even with sensitive lawsuits in which the details are kept secret for legal reasons, the actual lawsuit itself is reported on, who is sueing who, over what exactly.

Now, until we see some actual hard evidence that this is nothing more than fiction started in a mealroom, can we please just let this garbage go and resume reporting on what is truth?

The "rankings" are simply fluff that relate to how many posts a user has. I have been on these forums for a number of years, hence why my ranking is such. It doesn't mean diddly. I assume from your childish response that you're finished attempting to perpetuate a rumour without proof? In which case, I thankyou, and perhaps this thread can resume discussion of the rollout of uniforms across the remainder of the business - namely train crewing.

For the record I'm not aware of any stations that removed the old timetable posters. If they were it was a isolated error by station staff. New timetable posters with the Sydney Trains logo have not been distributed as yet. The only timetable posters on display are Transport NSW / Cityrail items. They have not been changed due to the new time table coming out soon. That's bleeding obvious!
As for all other posters, I note that they are new Sydney Trains items.

At my locality we were under strict instructions to remove the timetable posters from the area manager, my guess all because of a small logo also told not to display any timetables, brochures etc but they can be handed to passengers as they ask for them.
Interestingly the TVMs where Cityrail was previously showing near the bottom have been covered with generic NSW Government Lotus stickers.
As I say it seems a bit weird considering train crew are still in Cityrail uniforms, you still have the Cityrail network maps in trains, etc but people that get paid more than me come up with these ideas.

Asquith, Mount Colah and Mount Kuring-gai still have timetable posters. It appears stations without electronic indicators have kept their timetables.

I don't think timetable posters were removed due to branding. They would have been removed regardless.
