I don't care what numbers there are...its not blue and gold...so I dont want one!!!

I actually worked on VR trains during the blue and gold period We drove B&G B, S X, T and Y Class Whilst relaxing at home depot we actually got to sit around in B&G F Class'. We even got a treat when the B&G C Class came along!
Surprisingly after a few major crashes and because we started to run out of engines I got to drive Crimson and Silver and WAGR Orange and later Russet and also Candy and even some green and gold.

I could not represent my era faithfully if I was so one eyed   So its Orange and grey I limit, but allow everything else that ran, thus my excitement at finally upgrading my Lima GM's

I got a phone call this afternoon to finalise payment on my GM (of which the original price quoted/written on the blue card is being honoured!). My credit card won't be charged until the model is in BM/ToR's hands, but obviously that's not too far away now!

If only I had've been able to extend the order... Oh well, hopefully they'll have some left come the Caulfield exhibition.

Anyone had any funds charged from credit cards at all?

Been a while since I've heard from them and was told the funds would be charged the next week after the phone call? (8-7-13 to 14-7-13).

Perhaps a big delay with the amount of orders and having to process the payments?

My experience is similar to your except I am fully paid up! I emailed them and then they rang back to confirm the arrival times.

I was in at Bob's last week and it was empty except for the staff not the hub of activity it used to be.

I suppose it was fortunate/unfortunate all at the same time that I only put a deposit on it at the time. I was thinking of paying it off a little at a time, but there wasn't much point (hindsight is always 20-20!)

The old process of time payment EB payments is still a wary thing to do, at best a deposit to secure the model & put the coins aside until notified by the importers to pay in full as the models are arriving is really the only sensible option these days until things improve greatly.  I now try to stick $15.00 a week away for models but not always successful though, stick in a separate bank account & even if only gets 0.5% interest, given the waiting time on some models, you could still get the cheaper price by means of the interest,

I have not been to Toms for over 18months & only 2 other Sydney shops in the same time, & on each occasion the same thing was evident & at least one of them is in quite a prominent position, close to the station & on a busy mall, the others also in similar but not quite as good positions.  I get the impression that each of them do more from on line, & phone orders than from the shop directly.  

I think its a sign of the times.

That's what I did, just a bit larger than the minimum deposit required. I figured when they get here, I'll worry about paying for them then... I remember saying that about ING 'round here years ago, I really should've taken my own advice, that account became the new car fund, then the holiday fund... (3% isn't bad, adding in a bit of bonus interest for meeting the deposit requirement per month). In the end, they're honouring the price set when I put my deposit down, 2005 if I remember, so I'm certainly happy about that.

It is getting that way, most people shop online, certainly from other states. I know I'm going to have zero chance of getting to very many interstate shops, let alone most Victorian shops, so online/money orders are certainly handy. But that's the way for every retailer, online is chipping away large chunks of the walk in and buy model. See it with all the big retailers, supermarkets, just about everywhere. Add in the fact just about every manufacturing job is being shipped out, there's going to be very little for Australia to 'do' in about 10 years. Worse when the ore/minerals/fossil fuels eventually run low/out. But I digress!

My personal experience isn't relevant to Trainorama - they have an honest policy of providing an invoice of sale, as does Auscision and possibly most others

However, there is one prominent producer who arrogantly rejects this procedure amongst other unsavoury business practices

My question to you is would you risk a prospectively discounted model over a potentially long-winded legal battle to recover your outlay if the sale turns sour?

Better familiarise yourself with the process of OFT, CTTT and consumer law if in the affirmative

I've possibly had the remaining amount deducted from my credit card - can't tell just yet as their online banking site is useless and doesn't update purchases for 48 hours!

Anyway, hopefully I'll see a GM class arrive in the PO Box soon!

My red and silver ANR GM24 arrived in the mail today. At last!!!!!
Seven years and eight months after ordering and paying in full.

I am pleased with the model, but were the roof fans really black? I have researched as much as I can and all the photos I can find show them red matching the body colour. On the model they look plain wrong.

My model will eventually get weathering and if I can't find any pics showing black fans they will be toned down and blended with a dirty roof.
