    As long as it is within the loading gauge that's fine.

    It's a pretty standard thing, even for PN when they are light on for well wagons.

    Ahh ok.

    I've seen Double stacks with 1 full + 1 half-height on a flatcar, but I thought the 2 fullsize looked a bit tall

    ACA6002 is leading LZ3105 on 2443 freighter to Esperance. this is the first visit of an ACA to Esperance. it will probably go into the iron ore train fleet of loco's.

    Now that QRN is Aurizon and I imagine ARG has folded into Aurizon, for future historical accuracy why not lock this now incorrectly titled thread and restart it as Aurizon locomotives and movements?

    A couple from Sunday:

    DFZ2401-DFZ2405-DFZ2402 leaving Grants on a Loaded Karara Mining Limited ore from Perenjori as it heads towards Geraldton Port on the 16-06-13

    DFZ2401-DFZ2405-DFZ2402 hauling KML's ore from Perenjori rounding the curves at Separation Point as it nears its Destination, The Geraldton Port on 16-06-13.

    I passed Q4016 with 029 on Roe Hwy at about 9pm tonight.  That's a bit late for 029.

    I apologize for the stupid question, but it has been puzzling me. How do people know the number of the train, 029 etc



    Is there a website to look it up? How do you know what time its meant to leave?

    It's purely experience. There is no website to give you any indication of times or train numbers for the Brookfield Network.

    As a rule, there are only 3 Aurizon trains on the standard gauge east of Forrestfield. 025 is the general frieghter to Kalgoorlie, easily identified by the fuel tankers and mixed containers. This usually runs out around 1800 - 1900 ish. Then ther is 029 which is made up of nearly all identical yellow containers with 1 or 2 DG tanks. This usually runs after the departure of 025 and usually only has 1 locomotive, where 025 has 2 or 3 locomotives. The final standard gauge train is the salt train 073 which runs 2 (?) times a week. Generally L's and nearly always just low sided containers. Sometimes the waste fuel tanker for Merredin is also attached.

    P2515 has been running ballast trains north of Northam the last coupld of days. Yesterday it cam through town heading west with about eight ballast wagons in tow, and this morning it headed back north with twenty ballast wagons behind it - about half were the round side ones and the rest were the square "ore-hopper" type (I have no idea on wagon codes!).

    Seen S3304 cruising through pinjarra Friday 16th aug, empty bauxite, loco has a decent whack/dent in the right hand side cabin roof, don't know if it's no1 or 2 end

    Round ones are XH square ones may be XK or XM I think. XK's are ex standard gauge?

    A combined caustic / alumina service from Worsley occured yesterday afternoon. Its becoming regular either on a permanent or trial basis. With one S class, maybe 12 caustic wagons, another S class and about 40 alumina wagons. Both locos were crewed. I have seen it work both ways and too often to be break downs.

    The VR wagons were rebuilt with new doors at GEMCO Forrestfield and were used on both SG and NG.
    The CHAY/CHBY wagons were converted to NG for the line reconstruction east of Geraldton.

    The CHAY's which came down from the North were placed on Spare Iron Ore Wagon Bogies that were at Narngulu.

    P2511 is stabled in Goomalling today on a loaded ballast train in the loop off the Wongan Hills line, with a rake of XK, XM and XMG wagons behind it, and a couple of empty XMG wagons on the Wongan Hills line in the station area.

    What went on at QR forrestfield last week? The times I drove past they had a few cranes in and what I think was a grain wagon sitting on top of a trailer.

    Even more strange was the incursion by pacNat NR57 at the back of the loco storage tracks near the southern road entry

    I believe the nr was visiting the wheel lathe and by the sounds of it they might be scrapping some of the older grain wagons. others may know more about the grain wagons though.

    I checked them out a couple of weeks ago.

    As well as the DAZs, D1562 is in there as is A1202 and the two NJs and 1251.
    I'm told that ALZ 3208 is included as are the line of stripped 22s, 422s and a 31.

    One AB was still shunting the narrow gauge wagon shop.
