NSWR 49 class. New news?
Mansfield

Expected release 2013, can't see it myself and would rather see them doing the 421, 442 and 80 class properly.

Old news! First discussed in this thread 18 July. I have some new info, but it must wait until after I walk the cats.

During my many probing questions at the Caulfield exhibition I tricked the Auscision team into revealing some info about the 49 class project.
- Both original and rebuilt 49's are planned.
- The project is not related to the Trainorama 49's
- The models scale (HO, N, O ?) was not revealed.

BTW the cats enjoyed their walk Smile

Is is plastic? Or another brass job like the 44 was?

EDIT: Answered my own question by checking the blog. Another brass job. As far as I'm concerned, PSM are doing plenty of VR stuff in brass O-scale without adding another into the market.

A lot cheaper than PSM B class for example

Auscision really are taking the market by the balls - this is a great release for the 'O' collectors out there. I'd love to have one just to put it on a mantle piece to look at!! It just looks spectacular!

I'd assume they will/might consider doing all the main nswgr loco's first : 40/42/43/45 etc etc...
i'm hoping that the VR modellers might get a go too!!

And what is wrong with another player in the market?

Not saying there is a problem. Remember the market for brass in Australia has shrunk a bit (it has really never been huge anyway). I'm just saying that PSM seems to have the Victorian stuff covered in O-gauge as far as locos go. If Aucision came along and did plastic VR locos in this scale, I don't see an issue with that.

I have a hunch the foray into O scale will concentrate on things that carry SSR liveries.
