Hi All,
I thought I would share with you my lastest shed projects.
On the run I have had;
Repainting of the Thomas and Friends "Gordon's Composite Coach" into BR colours and interiour and exterior detailing.
Construction of the Metcalfe Water tower and Sandhouse kits.
Making a few pine trees and brewing plans for starting construction of the scenery.

As evidenced, recently I have had too much time and money to waste! No, not really. I just got sick of having the trains and ignoring them. Soon I will have to sell or get rid of my trains, and so I decided I wanted to get as much done as possible in the 12 or so months I have left with them.

Here I have some photos of some pine trees I have made out of those things you put in gutters to stops leaves falling in.

Then some photos of my painting. Don't be too critical, it's my first shot at it. :-p

Detailing

Luggage Racks that I made.

Interior being painted

Underside and Bogies after being splattered with paint from an old toothbrush.

These will be lights (made out of pins)

Doorways not quite completed

The other side of the carriage needs some more work done such as painting door handles.

There will be more stuff later if people are interested.

Thanks
R

Hello All,
Just a few questions, if anyone sees this thread.
I am curious to know what would be suitable interior detail for a Metcalfe Sand House and Water Tower kit.
I assume the sand was delievered by truck to the sand house, and shovelled into a furnace, then perhaps bagged? Does this involve a boiler, do I put a little coal stage type thing inside of the building? I  have done some googling, but I can only get outside pictures of sand houses, or modern ones for diesel locos. I  did find out that sand was tipped into the sanding gear using a watering can!
I have put a smoke generator into the top of the chimney, and I am really excited, but it needs to be powered down a little, as the smoke generator is more of a smoke alarm tester at the moment. I am going to buy some suitable resistors.
The water tower is similar to the one in Echuca Railway Station, and when I went there the door was slightly ajar, but there was nothing in there. Perhaps this was used as a crude living space for workers, or an office for a yard master? Perhaps an office layout would be suitable?
Thanks for your help if you read this.
