2013 Federal Election - 7th September

  Carnot Chief Commissioner

We'll probably know the result by 7:40pm going by the polls.  The Senate vote will be a fascinating and drawn out affair that might take weeks...

What a moron that Christine Milne is!  I just heard her say that Australia's future lies with the Arts; I suppose we will all become trapeze artists, flame throwers and painters living on lentils and mungbeans.  The problem with the Greens is they only care about their own 2% and couldn't give a stuff about anyone else in the country.

I think her and Sarah two fathers are looking for a village.

Christine said the other day that they want Australia's power to be from 100% renewable sources.   Obviously no need for the NBN then.   No power to run our computers and phones.   Get use to power black outs 3 or 4 days a week.   All we can do is paint on our cave walls and eat cold lentils (can't have a fire because of all the pollution we would create).

Confine these idiots to the scrap heap once and for all.

Can't wait until it's all over

I'm not giving Labor's Dick "why do they force feed that man?" Adams my first preference vote here in the seat of Lyons.

I wish my brother Matthew were standing for Federal Parliament. Maybe one day i could be a Councilman myself.

Careful, Sarah doesn't have two fathers, she hyphenated her name when she married Zane Young. Other things cannot be posted on the public record.

SO PLEASE STOP CONTINUING TO TAKE THIS OUT OF CONTEXT

Yes it turned out clumsy but it was not a joke.

It was part of a thread about how you can end up with extreme governments and there is little to pick between either.
It's history and it happened. My flesh and blood is in some mass grave over there. My father and mother both 'worked' for the German War machine as slave labour and companies made money off them.

So yes I am sorry about that.
I am sorry about this.

If it was a fact not a joke, we'll ask again, 'Where's your financial data to demonstrate such?' - Until you show this data we will continue to call you on what your post really was.

BTW, who reported Craig's post? What is wrong with that?

Aaron, I flagged this post for the moderator with the following:

"I got some peoples backs up with a comment. Although it was honestly meant to be illustrative (my poor attempt at being insightful) its turned out to be incite-ful.

I have apologised and tried to explain why I made it.

Unfortunately there is blood in the water that I can't undo."

Whilst I have genuine concerns, I shouldn't have included that comparison.

Accordingly and respectfully I am not going to comment any further on this matter.

Krudd is unreal!  I didn't think he would ever shut up and all the dribble about making the world a better place; What was suppose to be a concession speech sounded more like a victory speech - the man is totally delusional and full of his own smeg.

And you watch, due to a majority in the lower house, he & his party are most likely to become dictator-like.

Look on the bright side, every time a worker building one of Tony Abbott's 10,000 freeways (he thinks we need), trips over his shoe lace, we can blame the liberals for mismanagement for not ensuring workers only used quality laces on their shoes.

The Seat of Melbourne for the lower house has been retained by the greens, with and extra 10% more margin to boot.

The Senate is looking interesting, Nick Xenophon has apparently picked up 2 seats, as he can't clone himself he's going to pass one one to Labour. The greens seem possible to pick up 4 senate seats, if Tony thought having one controlling the senate was bad enough. Also Clive Palmer's party and one other independent have got a seat each.
This was all from the ABC coverage I watched earlier, will be a long time before we know 100% for sure about everything.

Tony's Climate change is [censored word] policy mandate is looking shaky as hell.

You lot are all the same, you have to resort to abuse to support your case. Accept the fact that labor lost because they are hopeless managers. The Australian people (AKA working families) have spoken!!!!

Fabricator: A hostile senate, or at least one not fully aligned to the Liberal Party, is a relief because it acts as Parkes et al intended and stops anyone in power from going too nutty and passing a radical legislative agenda.  I was especially glad to hear about Clive Palmer and the possibility of not only his lower house seat but a senate seat as well; it was also good that Adam Bandt won his seat back - regardless of what you think about the minor parties it's a good thing that we have more representation and diversity in both houses.  I don't understand the popularity of Xenephon but it's also good that he's there too - perhaps his presence can act as a stopgap against the winding back of pokies reforms.

And yes, I'm really disappointed that we're going back to the Johnny Howard days of building more and more toll-ways every where, as a frequent user of public transport I feel that we're going in the wrong direction on this particularly given our major cities are groaning under the weight of extra thousands every single day and we can't all drive cars, it's just not feasible.

Fabricator as a South Australian I expect better of you, if you looked at the ballot paper you'd know that Xenophon had a running mate called Stirling Griff, he needs not clone himself and he certainly would not and could not deliver his quota to Labor...

That's all academic anyway, because he doesn't look to get a second quota so it'll be 2x Liberal, a Labor, a Family First (sadly), a green (even more sadly) and Nick as the South Australian senators in the most likely scenario. Nick effectively as an independent did OUT POLL Labor in the senate though, so Labor will not get a second senator up!
