Reservations for the Albion Park to Moss Vale CityRail Bus when travelling on a CityRail ticket?

Hi,

I have a T&C question for people re the Robertson bus.

I want to travel from Kiama to Goulburn on a CityRail ticket using the via-Robertson (formerly) CityRail bus.

I understand that even though that service is(/was) a CityRail service bookings for it need to be made to use it through CountryLink.  Is this correct?

I've attempted to make such a reservation through the Call Centre but they are unable to make a (sticking) reservation without payment for a CountryLink fare.  Equally, they are only able to include a CityRail component of a CountryLink fare at one end of the trip (either Kiama to Mossy or Albion Park to Goulburn).

So what exactly am I supposed to do here to pay the correct fare for this trip?

Cheers,
DJF

Well last time i travelled on the bus i had a cityrail ticket and only had to show it to the driver,so unless theyve changed the rules im fairly certain you should be able to just rock up on the day with your ticket,im fairly certain the bus wont be packed it never seems to be

But to be sure i did a search for you and you only need a reservation if you are connecting with either the xpt or xpl at either goulburn or moss vale,so you will be alright if you get off at albion park

Hope that all helps

Sorry I am unable to quote the current rules but I doubt it has changed - only a small number of seats were reserved for Countrylink and around two thirds were left unreserved for Cityrail use. Prime reasons for booking were to indicate connecting passenger numbers when either the coach or Expl/XPT were running late rather than the lack of seats on the coach.

Hey DJF, I did just that trip in March. No reservation needed, just show the driver your ticket and take a seat. There were only about a dozen people on the bus. It was mid-week. Shane
