Thanks NR35. Oh how this loading has fallen away under the stewardship of PN. No fastrack which was working great, no oil.Ken Wakefield, CEO of Wakefields Transport is the prime advocate for rail freight transport in Mildura. Frankly with so many obstacles being put up to stop these trains altogether; IE reductions in service frequency and the track which is stuffed it's amazing the line is still open at all.
A customer in Mildura who has for a long time tried to increase the service only to be restricted by the carrier. Isn't any wonder why businesses move to trucks?
Regards
Brian

Frankly with so many obstacles being put up to stop these trains altogether; IE reductions in service frequency and the track which is stuffed it's amazing the line is still open at all.Unfortunately that would never work, as we have seen before with other services, and other lines when it comes to rail lines (passenger or freight) being closed, they very rarely get going again.
Maybe it needs a total cessation of the freight service due to these obstacles and the government being shamed into re-investing some $$ into the track upgrade.
Mike.
About 4 out of every 5 wooden sleepers were replaced by wooden sleepers. Thanks Donald. About time to replace those remaining fifth sleepers I think.
Oh and at most highway crossings a third rail was inserted in anticipation of the standardisation of the line in a few years time - so they wouldn't have to block the crossings again when that happened! Can't upset the road traffic.
