Newcastle & Central Coast Line  - Delays

4206 - thanks a lot for reminding me - not!

This morning, freight train breaks down at Cowan.
Another freight train breaks down also at Cowan. And this is when the guard said that "Due to a major delays, an oil spill (we did change from UP to the DOWN tracks at Cowan), and and the second freight train breaking down at Cowan(1).
The guard said it was an oil spill for the first freight train breakdown. That may be correct, but I really couldn't see any evidence of a possible oil spill.

And now when I just looked on the Sydney Trains website, their is a third freight train that has broken down on the same line at Wyee in less than one day!

1. 14:15 Sydney to Newcastle leaves at 14:16, arrives Broadmeadow at 17:53 and terminates, K1 comes to the "rescue", and leaves at 18:10, arrives Newcastle Station at 18:22 - i.e. 4 hours 6 minutes - Sydney to Newcastle! Normal time is meant to be 2 hours & 48 minutes!

Thanks Goninan. After about a 20-minute delay, the train went express to Liverpool via Regents Park. The driver changed ends there and we went back to Harris Park express before resuming the stopping pattern from there to Richmond. Notwithstanding the circumstances, I'm really impressed with Railcorp for adopting flexibility and not bustituting me home. Overall I was only delayed by about 40 minutes.

Cheers,
Ben

If their has been so many delays since Sunday (Blue Mountains not counted in the delays), how can "Aunt" Gladys say that the new train timetable has been a success?

Recently, be it old or new timetable, I have seen several (& did affect us) delays on just the Newcastle & Central Coast Line (N&CC) within less than 24 hours. About a week ago, the N&CC Line had four major delays within that 24 hours.

And the other day after the new timetable, I remember seeing about three delays involving the N&CC Line.
