DERM to Ararat on Sunday November 10 2013

DERMPAV has posted a tour to Ararat with 58RM on November 10 running via North Geelong in both directions. This tour originates and returns to Newport station and has time at Ararat to visit the Ararat Railway Museum. Details at http://www.dermpav.net.au

Excellent to see a heritage train will finally make it to Ararat, nearly a decade after the BG line was re-opened.

Understandably hard when there is no provisions for running around or turning Locomotives.

Question was this a planned cross and if so what did the DRRN need to cross on the Geelong/Ballarat line?

The railmotor Is on the mainline, the loop Is the track running along side the main platform (see the rusty rails)
