Passengers travelling away from the city on the T2 Inner West and South Line are advised to allow additional travel time due to a train requiring mechanical repairs at Campbelltown earlier.

Also, there were some delays yesterday (Monday) morning on T4 - Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line due to urgent track repairs at Martin Place.

Partial Closure

Passengers travelling northbound on the T1 Northern Line from Epping are advised to delay their journey due to the partial closure of the line from Epping to Hornsby in that direction only due to a train with mechanical problems near Beecroft. Alternatively, passengers may travel on the T1 North Shore Line to Hornsby then change for a citybound T1 Northern Line train to reach their destination. Passengers can also use their tickets to travel on local buses in the affected area. Passengers travelling northbound on the Central Coast & Newcastle Line are also affected. All passengers are advised to allow plenty of additional travel time, listen to station announcements and check indicator boards for information.

Did find out it was a coal train though, approximately 850 metres long or so.

But still, I think they could have shortened the length of the delays somewhat via several different methods.

Sydney Trains advises that trains are being delayed on the Blue Mountains Line in both directions due to urgent equipment repairs at Springwood. Major delays can be expected. Repair crews are in transit to attend. There is no forecast for repairs at this stage. Bus companies are being contacted to assist in conveying customers. Blue Mountains Line:

The 3:48pm Central to Springwood trains and the 5:24pm Springwood to Central trains are replaced by buses between Springwood and Penrith due to urgent track equipment repairs at Springwood. Passengers are advised to allow additional travel time, check indicator boards and listen to station announcements.

First, from yesterday morning:

T1 - North Shore and Northern Lines:

Frequent trains were operating on the T1 North Shore Line, T1 Northern Line but passengers were advised to allow additional travel time due to wet weather conditions, check indicator boards and listen to station announcements.

T2 - Airport and South Lines:

Frequent trains were operating on the T2 Airport Line and T2 South Line but passengers were advised to allow additional travel time due to wet weather conditions, check indicator boards and listen to station announcements.

T2 - Inner West & South Line:

Passengers on the T2 South Line were advised to allow additional travel time due to power supply problems at Sydenham affecting signals. Additionally, trains from the city on the T3 Bankstown Line are not stopping at Marrickville Station, passengers wishing to access this station are advised to catch a service to Dulwich Hill and then a citybound train back to Marrickville. Passengers should listen to station announcements and check indicator boards.

T3 - Bankstown Line:

Passengers on the T3 Bankstown Line were advised to allow additional travel time due to power supply problems at Sydenham affecting signals. Additionally, trains from the city on the T3 Bankstown Line were not stopping at Marrickville Station, passengers wishing to access this station were advised to catch a service to Dulwich Hill and then a citybound train back to Marrickville. Passengers should listen to station announcements and check indicator boards.

There were also some further infrastructure repairs in effect at Marrickville.

Passengers on the T2 Airport Line should allow additional travel time due to the train with mechanical problems at Town Hall earlier (see T4 below).

T4 - Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line:

Passengers on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line should allow plenty of additional travel time due to a train with mechanical problems at Town Hall earlier and a police operation at Miranda earlier. Additionally passengers on the T2 Airport Line and the South Coast Line should allow additional travel time due to the train with mechanical problems at Town Hall earlier.

T4 - Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line:

0930 (approx.): Passengers on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line and on the South Coast Line should have allowed plenty of additional travel time due to a train with mechanical problems at Martin Place earlier. Passengers could have used their train tickets on Sydney Buses between Central and Bondi Junction. Passengers are advised to listen to station announcements and check indicator boards.

0920 (approx.): The T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line was partially closed in both directions between Central and Bondi Junction due to a train with mechanical problems at Martin Place. Passengers were able to use their train tickets on Sydney Buses between Central and Bondi Junction. As a result of the closure of the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line passengers on the South Coast Line were advised to allow extra travel time. Passengers were advised to allow additional travel time, listen to station announcements and check indicator boards.

09:01AM: Passengers on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line were advised to allow additional travel time due to a train requiring mechanical repairs at Town Hall.

T1 - North Shore Line:

Frequent trains were operating however passengers travelling away from the city on the T1 North Shore Line should allow additional travel time due to vandalism to a train at Rooty Hill earlier and an ill passengers at Central earlier.
