I saw both 6001 and 6002 made another trip down to Vermont South this Saturday just gone. They seem to be making a few trips down there, would this be for high speed testing?

This is hopefully towards the end of 2000km of continuous fault free running.

During my travels on the Cranbourne line on Wednesday, I sighted what I believe to be E.6004 getting ready to leave its shed on the end of the Bombadier test track for a run up and down the track. No photos though - it's a bit hit and miss as to when you see an E class out and about and the trains run very fast on that line.

I spotted E.6003 out for testing in the CBD (Spencer St, then Flinders St) just before 5am.

During my travels on various trams this afternoon, I saw E.6003 on High Street, Kew outside the side entrance to Kew Tram Depot. I don't know where it had been or where it was going. It was about 3pm when I passed it.

Actually, I think each tram is supposed to do 40000 - 5000km of testing before entering service.

The E class (except for 6003) entered revenue service today.

I went on a ride at lunchtime and it went very well. 6001 and 6002 running together (one appeared to be on a scheduled trip and the other wasn'tn - running one after the other).  Lots of passengers taking photos (eg. non-gunzels). Tram was quiet and very large. A few people tried to board at the drivers door - so that might require some signage. I've been on the similar design in Porto, but the Melbourne design is more open and much nicer looking. It was all deliciously boring - which is exactly what you want. It appeared to work and work well.  Smile  Well done to Yar
