Flinders Power Coal Train (Port Augusta)

  JimYarin Chief Commissioner

I am wondering as to what Diesel Locos are hauling the Flinders Power Coal Train these days. Also, is the Consist still around 160 Coal Hoppers, and what days of the week does it run.

Not all the answers you are after, but Loco's are an 82 (8229), XRB and V544.
Departure (when it runs) is early evening from Port Augusta and returns the following morning. Not every day though.

a) My spies tell me that Alinta (or its predecessors) have an agreement that includes first call on the wagons should the hook and pull provider change.

b) an awful lot can change in 14 years PLUS GW were undercut by a government owned and subsidised freight operator when they lost the traffic in 1999.
