I may assure Scott Ramsay (Letters, November 5) that the Victorian Coalition government continues to be a strong supporter of rail and public transport.

In Ballarat, the Coalition government acted to place a $176 million order for eight further X'Trapolis suburban trains for Metro, which will provide work for Ballarat's valued tradespeople.

There's so MUCH cr@p in this story I hardly know where to start Exclamation

But I'll start by saying it was the Rudd Government Mk 1 and the former Brumby Labor government that got the RRL funded and underway and it could NEVER have started under the present Abbott/Napthine administrations. The Doncaster, Rowville, Bendigo-Castlemaine-Maryborough-Ballarat-Geelong and Melbourne and Avalon airport lines 'reviews' have proven that.

Moreover Mr Carew, who some readers in this pages will know writes the Minister for Public Transport's press releases is stretching the truth in this press release beyond all bounds of credibility...

Total and utter nonsense.
