1. budget accommodation preferably close to public transport and
2. What would be interesting to see and do from a rail fan perspective.
Many thanks in advance.
I'm especially interested in passenger trains including preserved Western Australian trains and trams. I have some interest in locomotives especially ones that aren't in NSW.Well most of our passenger trains not on the Clarkson/Mandurah line are from the early '90's. Beyond that you will want to look at Whiteman park where there is a vintage electric tram and historical diesel and steam trains providing rides on the rails around and through the park. Or you could even take a tour around the park on a restored vintage bus
Thanks doggie015 and andrew1996 for your replies. Are there any ADKs or ADLs left in the Perth Area? Also is it possible to see any standard gauge iron ore trains close to Perth? You might be able to catch some iron ore trains out at Thornlie or on the rails near the Fremantle port
