A 12 car S set run was conducted from Broadmeadow Yards to Flemington MC with 3878 (S91) leading.Reportedly left Broadmeadow about 1250, then ran into troubles when the RailCorp ballast cleaner rake malfunctioned at Cowan and touched the OHW causing major delays. Last heard that the 12-car S Set was sent into the loop at Gosford to await a fresh crew from Sydney.
Bankstown Line is basically the worst suburban line running in and out of the city in terms of having the most unairconditioned trains operating an hour during a weekday. Most of the time 50% of Bankstown Line trains an hour are S- sets although some services are scheduled to be C or K sets. Every other line running in and out of the city have at least 75% air conditioned trains an hour. This is completely unequal! When will the S-sets on this line be swapped for waratah trains? Those are very broad statistics there. I presume you've counted all of the services on the line and have crunched the numbers to get "50%" and "75%"? Taking a five second look at the SWTT, I counted approximately 85% air-conditioned trains, based on a random selection of a start time (0900 at Sydenham for down trains), I got A, C, S, M, A, K, A, K, A, C, M, A, S, A, K.
I regularly commute on the 7:06 C set service which goes from Lidcombe to Town Hall via the Bnakstown. Line. Over the past 3 weeks only 2 C sets have shown up on this service. This means 13 out of 15 days, the train must have had safety issues or defects. These figures show how appalling maintenance work is carried out. I mean only twice have a C - set shown up in 15 weekdays, how bad can it be??Firstly, you've completely ignored any request to validate your made up statistics.

On a visit to Enfield this afternoon, Saturday 23/11/13, another 8 cars have taken up residenancy on the south end of Road 4.
Unfortunately, due to Freight Wagons stabled alongside Road 1, only one car could be identified at the southern end of the 8 cars, that being Car 3755.
As per recent posts, this car was in the consist of set S79.
Further to my previous post, on a visit to Enfield, Tuesday 26/11/13, I was able to identify another car in the 8 cars on Road 4.
The north end car is 3917 which was in the consist of set S44.
Not scrapping, but S Set-related, I've noticed only in the past maybe year or two that there don't seem to be any S Set cars left with the blue CityDecker livery on the external sides anymore. When did the last carriage or set of the fleet have this livery removed?
