Heads up for Friday, 1577 Robel to run Chullora to Narrabri by SSR due thru Broadmeadow approx 1510 as 4910-4911-4917-4702 in some order at this stage .Good luck everybody!
My apologies to Raichase (above) - I failed to acknowledge your tip-off for Friday in my previous post. Many thanks for the heads-up!No dramas - I too have heard about the movements you mentioned above, but only as they happened, and I figured others might be in the same boat! Nice to have advance notice for these things so one can get trackside, rather than try and react on the day. Might see you out there.
G'day Dave, my apologies - I read the time of departure ex Chullora wrong. The train was approaching Fleminton Markets about 11am heading north. Hope you can see it pass through Hornsby. Thanks Trent, sadly due to my injury, the nurse wont be coming until early afternoon today.
Some video of the lash up at cockle creekI have been busy this morning working out the running times for this train to return to Sydney[Chullora].So if it departs Werris Creek at 2.30.p.m. Monday, and the X.P.T. takes 5.1/2.hrs to get to Sydney. Then this Diesel Set of 4 Locos plus its load of Rails could appear at Cowan anytime after 8.p.m. on Monday Evening. My plan is to be Station side, prepared for its passing.Video and all.You will hear it miles away as it climbs Cowan Bank in the still of Night.I intend to be on the down line ,side of the platforms.Come say hello.

Dave, information on Facebook indicates that they're now planning for a daylight run through Sydney, out of Broadmeadow after the morning peak on Tuesday morning. I'll attempt to put up any more information if it comes to hand. Beware that the running times for this train will be substantially slower than an XPT or even a normal intermodal train due to the loading, maximum speed of rolling stock and the weight of the train.Thank you Raichase. I figured that someone would keep us informed with a timetable or S.T.N. notice. You have done well.I knew it wouldnt be as fast as an X.P.T. .But i was working on travelling times. Pity there werent any good spots to poke my head through as it climbs up Cowan Bank. But you would hear it long before you get to se it. I will keep checking.

I will keep checking.Monday 8.p.m. I have just telephoned Broadmeadow Network Controller who told me it was train number 5378.Due:1930p.m. out of Werris Creek. And due at Sandgate at 0230a.m. on Tuesday Morning. But he couldnt tell me anymore.
torana. Dave.

torana.Dave. I will check in he morning,in case something comes in.
Don't worry Dave, you're not the only one who was caught out - I was showing a friend of mine some of the highlights of the Newcastle area (Carrington, Morandoo yards) yesterday and we stopped in at Wyee to wait for this train, and it never turned up. Turns out it indeed got a run from Broadmeadow into Sydney before the peak, only to cause problems for CountryLink trains on the south when it ran slowly.Thank you Raichase- i enjoyed my time at Cowan, Freight and Passenger Trains passing by, whilst i sat in the Sunshine. But at Cowan, i did notice another 'Gunzel',sitting up on a rock at the Northern end of the Siding at Cowan. So i thought that he must have known something, but left at 11.25.a.m. and headed home.But,Hey- there will be other trains and other 'Specials' to look out for on another day.Or should i say- There will be other Trains. You did your Best to help US ALL.
