Highly doubt it, Doomben stn is way closer to the raceway compared to Eagle Farm and Ascot stn is practically next to the other one (sorry cant remember which raceway is which)

Not sure about this...http://www.qrig.org/lineside.php?div=bsa&location=pinkenba does not list it, but who knows!?

Ascot station serves Eagle Farm racecourse.
Doomben station serves Doomben racecourse.
Clyde Engineering plant was served by one of the sidings from Whinstanes.
Old Airport and Eagle Farm stations were merely stopping places on the Pinkenba line.

Race trains for either course are the normal Doomben service plus extra run throughs from Cleveland to Doomben.
These are scheduled depending on the importance of the particular race day.
Therefore, Ascot is just a single line through station on racedays or any other day.

I just saw something interesting on the Citytrain website regarding Eagle Farm/Airport Station. On the "Stations" section of the site, Eagle Farm appears in the stations list though no other station on the abandoned Pinkenba Line does, nor does any other abandoned station or bus link stop on any other line. Once clicking on the Eagle Farm link, the page quotes the address as Lamington Avenue, the address of the old station and not Kingsford Smith Drive, where the current bus stop is located. Could this possibly be a sign that Queensland Rail is considering re-opening the station? Can anyone suggest a reason as to why Eagle Farm would be listed here? The address of this site is: http://www.citytrain.com.au/stations/station_details/eagle_farm.asp

Maybe a phone call to QR is in order here
Cheers

Eagle farm station does need a bit of a clean up, and a bit of refurbishment should Translink decide to resume limited services to Eagle Farm
Cheers.

Ahh that explains it! When abouts did old Eagle Farm close? When going past i saw a sign near the platform informing commuters about the 1993 cease of rail services- this sign is also at 'new' Eagle Farm. Could it be possible that the platform was offically closed but still used as a stopping point? Will post a photo of sign at this and other stations if anyones intrested.
