Thankyou Michael, it was one point but the main was, why so many posts? Cant you just keep it to one post with all your fav photos in that one post instead of 10 posts? I'm all for people posting photos covering events but keep it to a minimum with a link as Michael pointed out.
I normally post my photos as a lot know with a link to the rest. I only took one photo on Saturday due to working but it's great to see all the photos coming through.
The trip was a very successful one from a Steamrail point of view. All the feedback from our passengers has been excellent with everyone enjoying themselves and got to 'relive' the old days with photo stops on the branch line. Look out for the next transfer trip, it will be bigger and better!
Les, what did you have in mind to make it bigger and better. Are you going to steam the E class at Maldon or bring out Heavy Harry?
To be more realistic, how does this sound, Y112 and A2 986 haul the train Melbourne to Castlemaine. Not sure what you can do on the branchline to offer something new, perhaps, strengthen the bridges and run Y112 & D3 658 with plenty of photostops, maybe with one loco banking in the rear.
20-30 years ago, the above suggestion would have been laughed at - evidence of how far the steam preservation movement has progressed since the mid 1980's. The success of Steamrail and the VGR, after encountering numerous hardships, is something we can all be proud of.
Maybe in another 20-30 years my opening question won't sound quite as stupid, time will tell!
