Has anyone noticed very sharp jerk when the tram starts off? Sometimes it seems ok, but other times it sends passengers flying. Is it in the controller or the driver?
It's as a result of both. The E class are being modified so that the driver needs to apply at least 50% power from the controller before any power gets through, which therefore results in the jerky take off. Good drivers can reduce it and still take off smoothly but like anything, it is dependant on their driving skills.I hate to ask a silly question, but why are they being required to have 50% minimum power input until they can take off? I'm not sure where the benefit is.
As they are introduced, the E's can take off with very little movement of the controller; but as i mentioned above, that's being changed to the minimum 50% power input.
