The underpass opens from noon tomorrow and 7 news Perth took us inside for an exclusive sneak peak the $40 million underpass which features anti graffiti walls made in Germany, bespoke ceilings, architectural skylights and has been insulated to soften the rumble coming from the trains running 2 metres above

Changing Midland trains to platform 9 is a good idea.  There is more clear platform room on platform 9 than there is on platform 8 with  the pillars supporting the car park being closer to the edge of platform 8.

Took my first walk down the new tunnel and it a great improvement on the treck up and down via the eastern concourse.  Only problem, I miss my coffee from the coffee kiosk for the long trip to Mandurah.

Don't worry! They'll get one in there eventually! In the meantime just count how many days those "Anti-vandal" walls last before they get vandalized

Quite pleased with the new pedestrian underpass for the Perth Station connecting all the platforms. Plenty of room and certainly makes it easier to get to the respective platform you require.

The huge space in the underpass could their be scope to have a couple of kiosks down there.

Also I see they have left plenty of space at the end towards the Platform 8 & 9 maybe for a future connection to Northbridge under Roe Street and to the State Theatre of WA/Perth Cultural Centre with another controlled entry?
