There's a new siding west of Doonside on the up side. A lot of earthworks as well. What's it all about?I cannot remember the name of the company, but they wanted a siding installed so that they could load wagons and export/transport by rail interstate. There was a mention in the Blacktown Local newspapers some months ago.
There's already a thread on this in the Infrastructure forum: http://www.railpage.com.au/f-t11374115.htmSome one else living under a rock
In a nutshell:
The siding is for Holcim for quarry haulage transport to the Sydney area where it will be distributed by truck (hence the M7 proximity). Completion scheduled for late 2014 at this stage.
Cheers,
Ben
Some one else living under a rockThat's not a fair comment, some people are not "down" with all of the latest infrastructure news, and I hardly think many people would first look in the infrastructure forum. The original post was a friendly request, which has been answered already. No need for you to weigh in. You've made your fair share of questionable comments in your time here, so you might want to pull your head in, eh?
