Old buildings at stations used for PSO boxes?

I've noticed at some stations that there are old buildings inside that aren't used anymore like at Alphington and Darebin which look like they may have been manned stations. Would these eventually be used for PSO boxes (if they're put at all stations) ad what else would they be used for? It seems like a waste. You can faintly look inside a blocked off window at Alphington platform 1 and see a messy office that has't been used...

This would be the case at many stations where buildings have become disused but we are not into saving money in Victoria.

How many unmanned stations lack air conditioning, have no toilets and contain asbestos?

Parkdale has recently been repainted, but I think the old station building/signal box at the down end of platform 1 is in the process of being refurbished as the PSO box. An air-conditioning unit has been installed outside the building along with new power connections. Also, the windows have been replaced with new tinted glass. It certainly looks like PSO's will be moving into Parkdale soon. But in most cases PSO boxes are being built to a generic design as a separate building - guess it is on a case by case basis. If there is an area inside existing station buildings for a PSO room to be built, it will be built inside the station building. In some locations the PSO boxes have been built but made to blend in with the station surroundings. The box at Clayton has been repainted in station colours, and the box at Mentone has been covered in fake weatherboards and then painted in station colours.

Many manned stations contain asbestos and have no staff toilets, so while PSOs who have just started a new job enjoy their brand new overpriced amenities railway staff have had to walk through urine and god knows what else for decades.

Where the current buildings are suitable, or able to be transformed into an apropriate building they will be, otherwise a brand new 'Baillieu Box' will be installed.

Chelsea is another one where the existing station building is used for PSO accommodation.

Reservior is another where the station building has been used as the PSO box in the old parcels section
