Were the other trams inside scrapped, or taken elsewhere? No need to say where.
I can give you some info from a recent newsletter from Sydney Tramway Museum. R1753 has been acquired by Warringah Council and will be restored as part of a new project in the vicinity of the former Narrabeen tram terminus waiting shed. R1 2050 has been disposed of to an energetic property investor for restoration and installation on his property, and he has taken steps to have the body transferred to Bendigo for commercial restoration. A third possibility is being explored with another party. To date the City Council had not commenced its Mens Shed project with R1 1993. R1 1995 remains at Rozelle for eventual inclusion within the tram shed redevelopment.
The first two transfers mentioned have provided some financial benefits to the Museum, and the outcomes are a lot better for the trams than to have them all remaining in the former depot subject to deterioration by vandalism and neglect.
