Yes and no. Part of her parole condition is to work at her sisters bikini manufacturing business, not that I really care.

Is working for a swimwear/bikini manufacturing business really a good idea if you're on parole in Indonesia?

Would it be better to do something to try to keep the Indonesian's on side especially if much of the population is Muslim?

Well firstly I would not call a Balinese an Indonesian, that is guaranteed to get their back up. And actually they are not mostly Muslim either. 83% of Balinese are Hindus, only 13% are Islamic.

Stop after "why".
Profit. Who gets the money is incidental. The media is after all 'free' although I can't afford to buy even one outfit yet Smile
I'm amazed that the pommy cops were ballsy enough to pursue the phone hacking allegations. Not so the pollies who are hiding behind 'freedom of press'.

It is called reporting the news and those who have the best access have the best story.

Her family will be able to assist there. I'm not sure what rights she has under her parole and/or visa conditions, she may be able to work which is the way most people earn a living!
Graham4405

The working part might be interesting. I don't know rules for Indo or her Visa conditions, but if like India and Middle East and North Africa that I do know it will be difficult for her to work. Most of these countries work visas are only issued to roles were their is a clear and defined skill shortage and a local cannot do the job. Countries like India and many African countries now have a blanket ban on unskilled and semi skilled labour work visa's.  Last I looked her work experience is Beauty Technician. she maybe able to start a business but often these required 51% local ownership.

I'm sure her family and others gave her money to survive in jail for 9 years and she will reportedly live with her sister until 2017, but while out of jail and I'm sure alot better conditions, her life is still basically on hold and her ability to find a partner and have children is fast running out.

All up, if she did it, so be it, thems the rules and if you don't like, don't go there with drugs!

One of Abbott's pack isn't waiting (allegedly). Perhaps they misread AFP as ABC Laughing

...News Corp is reporting that a senior federal government minister called Mr McWilliam to apologise for the raids.

What else does a TV network want?    RATINGS!

To decipher .... Rating means more people watch, mean that advertisers reach more peeps, means TV can charge more for advertising space, means greater profits (as previously mentioned)

Yes pressman that is about it as well they would kill their own mothers if they got good ratings for the live show. Who really gives a smeg, hopefully she will be hit by a bus or truck or something on the way to work so the media can wrap up the story finally and put it out to pasture. She is a convicted criminal not some idiot celebrity.

I live and work in a Muslim country and seriously do people really think Muslim women don't wear Bikini's?

I know a few women who have been to the local beaches and water park's here on women's only day. Nothing is too skimpy and that's only when they are not ripping them off each other, hence why many Western women including my (attractive in a bikini) wife won't use these beaches/waterpark on women's only day.

If you get the unfortunate chance to go to Saudi (read, we have no foreign tourist's apart from religious to Mecca and only few western expats), go into their malls. Look at the women's clothing shops there. They would make Australian clothing and swimwear shops look prudish!

Pakistan is exporting beer, they are also major supplier of BDSM leather goods to the world and prostitution is very common in Iran and the women probably get more respect from their clients than they do in Australia. Bahrain has no restrictions on Alcohol sales to anyone, the Saudi's don't even bother to change out of their Dishdash (unlike UAE) and if you are a single male booked into a hotel it takes only minutes before the first "house keeping from (nominate your country) knocks on your door and if you don't want that country, wait a few minutes or ask for another. Like Christianity, there are two sides to the coin!

A bit off topic but RTT Rules what do you think of the women's only carriages in Malaysia, Indonesia etc? Are they necessary or beneficial?
